This one of the best Indian restaurants in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura. The food here is so impressive which I have based on a totally non indian dish. I have always loved chicken tikka Massala, which of course is English and a lightweight dish for someone who can't stand spices. I cannot. But for a long time I have been unable to find a good one. This is hands down the best I have tasted in such a long time. Anyhow let's start at the beginning. So our plane lands in late, and trying to find a place still open and still serving was difficult. Lucky for us we happened on Masala. The decor was very bright and indian restaurant themed. While decor isn't my thing, I did appreciate the style. The wifey order poppadom starter and I went with samosas. The poppadom and sauces were great, the hot onion one I avoided. The samosas I really liked, but it was made with a more thicker pastry, and because of the way it was folded, one corner was quite dry to eat. My wife pointed this out, and have to agree. I liked it, but the folded part, was too dry to eat. Still a great reason to wash down with cobra. The mains were fantastic. I could talk about the chicken tikka Massala all day. But ever since the red colour ban, and I know it's food colouring that adds no taste. To me it's never had the same taste. But this has the same butter tomato taste I used to remember and love. In the last 10 years this has been one of the few restaurants that have managed to keep that flavour. The wifey went with a lamb Dopiaza, another winning dish. So good you could taste the double cooked onions. Oh and the Naans are huge, wife does like rice with her dish. And wanted to order 2, but I stopped her when I saw another table order. These things are the size of a decent pizza. Light and airy, but you have been warned. We left completely stuffed and really enjoyed the first night of our holiday. The staff are nice, friendly and have some chat on them. This place is the place to go if you want an good...
Read moreFantastic place, we went today around 3pm. We were greeted as we arrived. We decided on the pickle tray, poppadoms and cod pakora for starters. The spiced onions were really good however the cod pakora was bursting with flavour, the herbs used complimented the dish perfectly. I would happily of eaten a plate full of them and skipped the curry. For the mains we had the chicken garlic masala, the masala mixed grill, stuffed naan with pilau rice. Everything was cooked to perfection. Indian food made exactly how it should be and nothing like what we get in Scotland. Our waiter spoke great English and was able to change the mixed grill from being sweet to spicy. The service was fantastic and great banter with the staff members. The curries were the best Indian food I have tasted in years. I just wish I had found it sooner on our trip. I will definitely be back in the future. Everything about this place is 5 stars from the cleanliness, the toilet facilities, the location, the staff, the food and the atmosphere. My only criticism is that they don't...
