Restaurante O’Fado — Restaurant in Antigua

This place was fantastic, we were staying all-inclusive but ate out at night. We came here 3 nights in our 7 nights night holiday. We were here a few weeks ago in March, and the couple that own this place couldn't do enough for you. First night we didn't order a starter just went straight for main, lady brought some bread and alioli and then some chorizo to try, then a couple of prawns in batter, FOC all was very good. Then our mains came, which were great, I had a chicken dish, which was a Portuguese stew, so tasty. My wife had Portuguese pork, which I also tried, which was bang on. Peppers, onions, garlic I think I can still smell and taste these dishes. The couple came over chatted with us on all 3 occasions, recommended wines to go with our dinner etc. So nice. We ordered a bottle of wine and the manager said it wasn't cold enough to serve at the time so gave us a couple of glasses on the house until our bottle was chilled. We had decided to not eat in the hotel last night, all inclusive can get a touch boring, so went wandering around and stumbled across O'fado! We were not disappointed!

My wife ordered a fish dish with cheese and I had the steak Portuguese. The steak was cooked to the most perfect medium I have seen and served with a beautiful fresh salad, chips and a spicy sauce that was to die for!

The fish dish was beautiful and so well cooked, it was served on some sort of clay tray.. thing.. I joked it looked a little like a roof tile 🤣 but tasted so good and the clay tray kept it red hot for a long time!

The staff were excellent and friendly and really quick at looking after our needs.

Also, the cod cookies on the starter menu are an absolute wonderment! Crisp on the outside really light and fluffy inside! Absolutely beautiful and went well aioli that came with the bread roles!

Fado in Caleta de Fuste is a true gem! The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and family-friendly, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The service was exceptional – very attentive and incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was the highlight of our visit. I ordered the codfish and the fish of the day, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. This restaurant would easily be a top contender anywhere in Portugal. The quality and taste were outstanding. We also enjoyed a nice wine that complemented our meal perfectly. For the premium service and top-quality food, the prices were very reasonable, offering excellent value for money.
