El Tejar 2 was a fairly typical inexpensive Tenerife restaurant. The food was good, but not great, yet offered fair value. I had a prawn and avocado starter, the avo wasn't quite ripe, it was edible just not enjoyable. My main was a fillet steak, that wasn't tender, but was nice enough. If I went back, which I might not, I would order something different. The service was quite slow, for example it took 30 minutes to get us out bill, then it was wrong, and they had to go back and do it again, one of the service staff had bad BO, which also detracted from our experience. The food was all delicious, I had a Cesar salad to start which was huge, followed by the chicken cordon bleu and a bariquito coffee. We had the menú del dia, at 6.95€ (daytime price...it goes up 1€ at night). There are around half a dozen choices for starters and main courses.
