I recently had an appalling experience at L’italiano, where the staff's behavior was unbelievably rude, and the manager's conduct was nothing short of monstrous.
Upon arrival, we were seated promptly but needed a high chair for our children. We requested it three times from different staff members, only to be blatantly ignored. Frustrated, I asked again, and as I tried to move a normal chair to make space for the high chair, the manager abruptly shouted at me. This public humiliation was not only embarrassing but entirely unnecessary, especially in front of other guests.
The manager accused us of causing complications in the restaurant and made a huge scene. His behavior escalated further when we decided to leave due to the ultimate disrespect we faced. Shockingly, the manager chased us down the road, continuing to shout and behave aggressively, akin to a hooligan.
This entire ordeal unfolded in front of our newborn baby and our terrified four-year-old child. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly, especially by someone in a customer service role. The manager is lucky we didn't call the police on him.
Upon checking other reviews, I noticed a common theme of terrible staff behavior. It is evident that L’italiano has a serious issue with their team, particularly with this disgraceful manager.
I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant unless they take significant steps to address their staff's unacceptable conduct. Avoid at all costs if you value respectful and...
Read moreWhen we got there a man was waiting for an order to take away, the waitress dealt with him briefly and then asked if we wanted to be seated - then just pointed to a table for us to take. We waited about 10 minutes before asking for a menu to which we were just pointed at the qr code on the table, and shortly after received menus (other people who came in got a physical menu immediately). We placed out order and food came out as you'd expect. In the meantime I did witness the waitress taking selfies of herself instead of paying attention to customers. My partner was disappointed with his carbonara as it had bacon in, and my mushroom tagliatelle had some very mushy mushrooms in. I ordered a tiramisu for dessert, and a few minutes later a couple sat next to us. They received their meals before any sign of my dessert. It was at least 20-30 minutes since I ordered, but ended up cancelling and just getting the bill. Only after that did they start to apologise. The waiter seemed more attentive and polite than the waitress, but they missed the mark by not noticing empty tables with people sitting at it. Heard good reviews about this place but just failed to impress. The food at La Bella was a lot better and even the staff at Leo's cafe (both just 30 seconds away) where much more...
Read moreHave been back several times, tonight was my 4th or more time here. Has always been 10/10. Food is spectacular! Very clean, tidy, modern but classy inside, staff are all very friendly, helpful and smiley 😊 1 thing I will mention is, tonight, the pizza was cheesier than it’s been before. Some people would prefer this but I didn’t really, as the excess cheese left a lot of oily mess on the plate and the middle of the pizza was borderline soggy. This is a first though, possibly a mistake/accident? I will mention next time I go to make it less cheesy for me, but I have to admit, I didn’t leave much! I also had spaghetti and another pasta tonight, they were both brilliant 🤩 We were €49 between 2, I had 3 drinks, my partner had 1. 1 glass of wine and 3 colas we had in total, a pizza and 2 pastas. The food and service was so good, especially for this price, we had to leave a €10 tip in cash for the staff, it only felt right. They did not ask nor hint towards this, we just felt it was way cheaper than we expected (as usual) and left a tip again...
