Vulcano's Grill — Restaurant in Arona

went here for dinner during our holiday after seeing the reviews. We were seated outside very quickly and had our drinks order taken and we were given the menu. Then we waited and waited and watched at least 5 or 6 other tables get seated and have their food orders taken before we were even looked at again. After 15 to 20 mins someone took our food order and I can only describe the food as okayish. Had bruschetta as a starter and can only say this we not like and version i had eaten before with grated tomatoes and a basil leaf served over a sprinkle of grated mozzarella cheese and this was presented on a very think slice of granary bread. Partner had the burger and was a bit put off when it came with a fried egg on it as this was not mentioned on the menu (if it had been he would have asked for it to be left off. I ordered the pork tenderloin I was rather surprised when it came and had this strange green/blue piped gunk with a sprig of thyme stuck in it which i did not want to even try and a huge sprig of basil that would have been better being used for the bruschetta. When i had finished i asked what this gunk was and was told it was mashed potato and they had no idea why the kitchen dyed it green/blue. Was offered and served drinks quickly then left for what seemed an eternity to be asked for our food order. I made a joke/comment about waiting a long time only to be then treated not so great. Food was edible but the menu did not contain full descriptions so ended up with an egg on a burger, not my kinda burger. Also ended up with fries and fried potatoes because it wasn't clear the burger comes with fried potatoes. Won't be back, did look at TripAdvisor and their website before going in.. it said on the website forever improving wherever. So 1. add descriptions to your menu, 2. don't leave customers waiting, food orders were taken from at least 3 customers/tables that arrived after us. And 3. learn to take a polite joke/comment from customers and still treat them like valued...

The host out the front made a point to say how hard he works for his money so we went inside. Feeling sorry for him. The place had roughly 5 tables with people, the service was extremely slow one table walked out after waiting so long! We ordered scrambled egg on toast x2 which took roughly 30 minutes after ordering. (We were considering leaving also) It is a cheap venue which may explain the poor / slow service, and reusing of old glass sauce bottles. (See picture)

When we came out I mentioned the above to the host "who worked so hard for his money" he said it was his friend's and a new lady had started which is why it was slow. If its like that on a quiet day that's shocking to what a bigger disappointment it would be when busier.
