We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Acebuche, enjoying a memorable evening on their charming courtyard patio terrace. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed yet refined dining experience. From start to finish, the service was incredibly friendly and smooth, making us feel perfectly taken care of. A special shout-out to the sommelier, who truly elevated our meal with impressive engagement, extensive knowledge, and warm recommendations – his expertise was much appreciated! Every dish we tried was delicious, showcasing remarkable skill and creativity. Standout dishes for us included the exquisite Trout from Cazorla Wellington, the perfectly prepared Segureño Lamb, the intriguing Nettle with PX Vinegar and Quisquilla prawn, the rich Aubergine with Wild boar sobrasada, and the refreshing Fennel with Dill and Almonds milk. Acebuche delivers a truly exceptional dining experience. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for outstanding food, impeccable service, and a...
Read moreThis was such a disappointing experience. Let me start by saying that the food was good; however, our overall experience was not suitable. We arrived for dinner at 9 pm on 21 September, never expecting to eat outdoors on a chilly evening. I was very surprised to see that our table (and everyone else’s) had been set up outside.
We sat down for a long dinner with many courses. While the temperature was acceptable at first (with a sweater and scarf), we soon had to put on jackets, and by the middle of the meal we were seriously cold. We pointed this out several times and asked to be moved inside, but were told this wasn’t possible — apparently, someone had decided dinner would be outdoors regardless of the temperature.
I’m not sure what the restaurant’s aspirations are, but I can say with certainty that letting customers freeze doesn’t make for a pleasant or memorable evening. Towards the end of the meal, I was so cold I was tempted to skip dessert and leave. Finally, someone moved us to another (outdoor) table for dessert, where at least we were protected from the wind, which had been blowing my hair in my face the whole time.
So, so disappointed by the experience, especially as it was a birthday present. When we mentioned this at checkout (the restaurant is part of the Puerta de la Luna hotel), we didn’t even receive an apology — just a casual “oh yeah, it was colder than expected
Read moreA wonderful restaurant serving original, flavorful, and beautifully prepared dishes. Unfortunately, the service was well below par, so much so that it’s the only reason we will not return. 1. We were seated directly under a freezing AC. When we asked to move, we were told no other tables were available. We then suggested simply sitting on the opposite side of our own table, but were curtly informed that we wouldn’t be served if we did so. 2. We ordered a set menu and a bottle of wine. The wine finally arrived after we had already finished our first course. By that point, my mood was already dampened by the seating issue, and this just sealed it. Things didn’t improve when we had to ask several times to have our glasses refilled. So, if you’re looking for excellent food in Baeza and don’t mind being ignored or dealing with poor service, this might be the...
