Àpat's restaurant — Restaurant in Barcelona

During my recent visit to Barcelona, I had dinner at Apat, a restaurant that left me with mixed feelings. The evening began on a high note with an order of fried potatoes with aioli. The potatoes were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and buttery on the inside, paired beautifully with the creamy and flavorful aioli.

However, my main course, a quattro formaggio pizza, was somewhat disappointing. The pizza felt like it was a frozen bake rather than freshly prepared. The crust was not hand-tossed, lacking the texture and authenticity one would expect from an Italian pizza. While the pizza tasted decent, it lacked the genuine Italian flair and quality that I had hoped for, something easily matched by pizzas available in the U.S.

On a positive note, the service at Apat was excellent. The waitstaff was attentive and ensured that my dining experience was comfortable. Sitting inside the air-conditioned restaurant provided a nice respite from the summer heat outside, contributing to a pleasant dining environment.

Overall, while the service and appetizers at Apat were commendable, the pizza fell short of expectations. If you’re looking for great service and a comfortable atmosphere, Apat is worth a visit, but perhaps try something other...

Paramos a tomar una caña con un amigo esta tarde y la experiencia fue bastante desagradable. Al llegar las bebidas, la cerveza de grifo tenía un olor raro y estaba llena de partículas blancas flotando, además de un poso bastante evidente en el fondo del vaso. He crecido en una familia que ha tenido y gestionado pubs en el Reino Unido, así que sé perfectamente cuándo una cerveza está en mal estado. Este tipo de suciedad es señal clara de que las líneas del grifo están asquerosas y no se han limpiado en mucho tiempo.

Se lo comentamos a la camarera, que lo minimizó diciendo que eran “solo burbujas”, a pesar de que también olía mal. Luego apareció una señora mayor, que asumimos que era la dueña, y empezó a hablarle a la camarera en otro idioma mientras hacía gestos raros hacia nosotros, como si estuviéramos locos.

La camarera finalmente ofreció cambiarnos las cañas por botellines, cosa que aceptamos. Pero al poco volvió con muy malas formas y nos dijo: “Si no queréis esas cervezas, no queremos que estéis aquí, os tenéis que ir”. Increíblemente maleducada.

Nos lo tomamos con humor porque, sinceramente, ya estábamos pensando en irnos por la falta de higiene. Lo más preocupante es que este sitio también sirve comida. Si así tienen los grifos de cerveza, miedo da pensar cómo estará la cocina.

El trato fue nefasto, la dueña completamente despectiva, y las condiciones de higiene, lamentables. No entiendo cómo este sitio puede tener 4 estrellas. Yo lo evitaría...

Great lunch and super tasty. There were English menus to help get our order in. Food was great for price and generous portions. Staff were friendly and helped us sort out order. Only a day left on our trip but I'm pretty sure we can squeeze in another visit. This cafe has the price to service / food value...
