B-ONE Palau de Mar — Restaurant in Barcelona

Where do I start? I am also very confused to see these great reviews. We asked for an empty table right next to the water. We could get the table, but only if we ordered food (next to our drinks), the manager told us. So we ordered something to drink first, and got it quite fast. The kind waiter (not the manager) told us that he would come back to take our order for food. We waited for over 25-30 minutes before this gentleman came back to us, and we already emptied our glasses. He politely excused himself for the long wait, and asked if we wanted something to eat anyway. He added, if you only want the drinks is fine as well. So we said ‘we’ll just do the drinks’ and asked for the check. So unfortunately I cannot rate the food quality. After we consumed AND paid for the drinks (which by the way were more expensive on the bill than on the menu), the manager saw us and started screaming at us. He was very angry that we did not order any food, and that we had to leave right away. We were flabbergasted by his reaction. He said ‘do not smile and get out of here’. ‘You have to respect my law’, he yelled. (While his employee said it was fine just to do the drinks, because of the long wait). Finally, his words (literally): ‘Go to Burger King, ** YOU!’ (you know the words). But we were lost for words. Very rude to us, while it was their mistake. He embarrassed himself in front of a full terrace as manager of this restaurant. You NEVER do this to your clients. This is very unprofessional, even when we only had drinks. We did consume and pay for the check, so I have no idea what was wrong with this man. I rarely put out low reviews but this was the worst place I have ever been to. Never had such a rude and unprofessional manager. By the way, the guy that served us was very polite. See receipt for verification of our visit.

Good points: The atmosphere is nice. I was warmed about 10% on top of the bill which always appreciated. Staff speaks engilsh, so it is easier to order Sangria is tasty. It has a cleat fruity taste and a dominate lemon/citrus taste. Potatoes were also tasty ( good mixture of salt, herbs and souce) Service is fast, no long waiting lined, whis is always a plus. Weak points: Price- relatively high. It feels like the objective is to get a person to sit in and then you are a bit left to be on your own. ( you would need to proactively watch for the waiters and really ask for attention to order something).

My personal preference: I like to have seafood not deep-fried. Deep frying kills the actual taste. If it is deep fried, you can't really feel if sea food is fresh or.... Unfortunately, there isn't a seafood mix without deep-frying.. It would be great if Service could propose to have a seafood without deep frying it.. at the end of the day it is also possible to simply put a shrimp on the grill without flour..but it isn't possible here. ( so no extra steps to please anyone.. either you order it by the menu..or you go somewhere else) -portions are relatively small for the price ( but well... if it is a custom, them here we are..) In general the restaurant is good for drinks... but you might wanna direct you somewhere else for actual...

Terrific food, warm welcome at best located restaurant in Barcelona. Sea-food is the must have here, while I did not try burgers also looked very tempting and seemed very popular. Choices range from tapas to full courses with a full and extensive drinks menu from beers, cocktails, shorts and reasonably priced wine. This is the best location to have a drink and watch sunset over the port in Barcelona.

We had seafood all the way, choosing to share a starter and then one of us had black baby squid with rice and lobster. The lobster is one of the most expensive items on the menu at 36 Euro but is worth it for a special treat for either the one you love or yourself!! Other main menu items are in the 20-27 Euro range and there are also cheaper bites with generous portions. We had a bottle of rose, so a full meal for two over a well spent few hours rocked in just north of 100 euro....service is fantastically friendly from a team who are energetic and passionate.

We will be back!!!! again...
