La Gamba ("The Gambrinus" in English) is a large-scale sculpture designed by the Spaniard Javier Mariscal that represent a prawn.

The work, inaugurated in 1989, began as an eye-catcher for one of the several restaurants on the Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona designed by the architect Alfred Arribas, a friend of Mariscal.

The sculpture was constructed of polystyrene and fireproof polyester by the master fallero Manolo Martín. It measures about 10...

Lovely lobster that overlooks the port of Barcelona. Was one of our last memories of the city and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Became a very positive meme throughout the rest of our trip (ie “Our Lord and Savior, Gambrinus”) and served to be one of the better memories of Barcelona. You won’t regret seeing his mighty smile. Please do go out of your way to bask in...

we like lobster but they are usually red. Gold is cool. They have added a wave structure beneath it which helps contextualize it as a lobster. Antenna we don’t love. You really start to realize how much you love it when you get to the next wave like underpass and it doesn’t...

Ever since being blessed by Gambrinus, I’ve found success in my job, happiness in my relationships, and discipline in my routines. I’ve lost 20 pounds and now have a wife and 3 kids. Would definitely recommend checking out this beautiful statue if you need any guidance in your life.
