My brothers and sisters in Christ this was the worst culinary experience that I have ever had. This is truly and utterly a turist trap. The food is beyond terrible and they microwave most of the tapas. I added a picture of the microwave oven that I call the little chef cause this little guy was hard at work. If you ever need a microwave oven this is the one to get! I mean this thing works all the time at Bar Joan. Although they seem to only “cook” your food 1 min 30 sec in it so he’s more of a sprinter than a long distance runner, but I am still impressed. On a serious note this place is horrible, all of the cooked tapas we got were microwaved and some were still cold inside. The quality is abysmal and even the sangria tasted disgusting. The beer on tap is ok and the service was ok as well. I cannot understand how this place got a review on YouTube by a travel bureau, I would be mortified to have my name associated with this shameful excuse for an eatery.

STAY AWAY!

Go to some of the other stands buy some tapas, cheese and croquettes and eat them in your hotel room and that will still be a 5 star experience compared...

We went inside Santa Caterina Market hoping to eat at one of the stalls for late lunch but it was past 3:30pm so most were already closed for the day.......until way in the back we came across a busy bar looking place serving food! We got seating immediately at the bar and found out they served a 3-course menu for the price of 15 Euro which also included a glass of beer or wine! For the same price I would be lucky to get a bowl of salad in SF! You get to choose your 1st and 2nd course and dessert. Waitress highly recommended the Rioja style potatoes with chorizo so hubby ordered that while I ordered white bean and tuna salad for our 1st and we each got a white fish of the day for our main. Plus glass of beer for me and wine for hubby. Both 1st course items were pretty hefty serving - potatoes were really tasty! Fish was a bit dry but 2 filets per dish left us full. Ended our meal with caramel custard and melon. Lot of regular locals were there. Warm and...

This place doesn’t even deserve a star because this is the ONLY place in my months of travel in Europe that is racist towards me as an Asian. They simply ignored my existence while I patiently waited in the line for 30 mins, even until it was my turn. I also saw a fellow Asian man who was trying to get a seat at the place being ignored. They briefly seated me after I ASKED so desperately for service. By the way, the floor was so oily & slippery if anyone is interested to be seated inside.

Was shown the lunch menu but when I asked about the tapas, waitress replied that I have to be seated at the bar which is what I’ve always wanted. When I went to the bar myself, nobody cared if I need to order anything. Once again, I had to ask desperately for service but waitress told me to wait while she went over to service some other customers who came after me. That was when I left because they are not even interested to have any Asian customer. I am disappointed by...

In town for a couple of days we came across this venue whilst walking through the Santa Catarina Market, attracted by the queue of people waiting for a seat. The wait didn't take too long and we ended up with a seat at the counter, offering a three-course menu option at just Euro 14,25 per person (including bread and one beverage) as well as a la carte tapas From the menu we selected a lettuce hearts anchovy salad and seafood/meat paella, followed by grilled chicken and baked john dori and as dessert a creme catalan and cheese cake. Service was friendly and efficient All food tasted great and was served at the right temperature Definitely a venue for us to return and highly recommended to those who are after a lively local culinary experience in one of the best covered markets in Barcelona.....no reservations but worth the wait during peak hours
