Found this Mosaic class via TripAdvisor, thought the children and I could try our hands at something different.
The children really enjoyed themselves, we decorated one frame, two boxes and two magnets using the small colourful square tiles, they were easier to use than the larger tiles (which needed additional cutting and arranging and more time! ) We had an hour to complete the boxes and frames.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. One of the members of staff even brought out a large fan for us as we went in the middle of August when it was very hot.
The place was clean, tidy, well stocked and organised. There was an array of different mosaic art pieces which were on display which was amazing.
An hour was not long enough in this place, I felt like we had to rush to complete our designs, maybe an hour and a half would have been better as a session rather than an hour. We were able to take our finished products with us at the end as we're using the small colourful square tiles and not the larger tiles (you had to come back for another day if using the larger tiles which is a bit of a struggle if you are pressed for time and visiting Barcelona on a very short visit). Our designed pieces were not fully dried when they were wrapped up for us to take away, when we got back to our home country, some of the tile pieces had moved or had fallen off but it was easily fixable at home with PVA glue.
We would recommend this to others as it was an enjoyable activity, it was great for kids and if you want to do something different other than site seeing then...
Read moreI can’t recommend this activity highly enough. Whether on a party weekend, group outing, or family trip, MOSAICOS offers the perfect air-conditioned diversion from an exhausting day of walking tours and crowded attractions.
Booking was super easy, with a reliable online process and confirmation details sent immediately. Once you’re there, you get a 5-minute tutorial and a chance to either pick from pre-shaped stones or use tools to make your own tiny pieces from buckets full of multicolored scraps. The staff generally leaves you to your own creative devices but walks around gently offering advice and help filling any tough areas.
It’s one of those rare activities that’s equally challenging for both kids and adults but also immensely satisfying as you get the hang of it. It’s also a very social activity—the studio buzzes with a great playlist, and tables are arranged to facilitate relaxed conversations.
The whole place just has a chill, happy vibe. You could show up before drinks or after the beach, and neither would be out of place. The staff are fun and helpful. And the mosaics even came out great. This is an awesome, unique activity, and MOSAICOS offers it with...
Read moreWe appreciated the availability at short notice and the quick turnaround and getting our finished designs back. The staff were all very friendly. One thing that could have been a little better was the support and feedback during the workshop. When we were discussing ideas of working on our projects, we were quickly told that won't work, that's not possible, you can't do that. Perhaps this could have been delivered better. For example, "it might be difficult to do the details of the flag, but you could do the colours of the flag." One of our guests who has autism was working hard on his design and had decided to use a combination of tiles and plastic squares. He was very proud of what he was doing and had almost finished. Our host (not intending to be mean or nasty) came and told him "that won't work. We can't finish that." Perhaps she could have said this earlier or just been a bit more tactful and less direct. For example "wow, that looks great. The only thing is we won't be able to put the filler on it because the tiles are at different heights, but it still looks great!" I hope this feedback will help in developing what is already a very enjoyable...
