Eddie’s is my new happy-place. When you enter the restaurant, you are drawn into a world of taste, beauty and honesty. There will be a strong aroma of grilled beef and fried fries in the air, dancing around your nose. Your ears will be massaged by subtle and gentle music. The bright and attentive observer will notice a couple of things laying around: the raw materials. The key-essentials of a beautifully small menu. Fresh brioche burger buns, raw potatoes, pickles, tons of beer and the good old Heinz ketchup. The ambitious guest should be able to effortless chew through 50% of the menu: cheeseburger, fries, beer. Actually, in my humble view, the menu would be complete like this. However, you also find a veggie cauliflower burger variant, a chicken sandwich and a mysterious fish sandwich, which we could not test during our 4-day visit in Barcelona, because it is only served on Fridays. I think every day is fry-day at Eddie’s! The service makes you already feel at home at first touch. A smile, a warm welcome. Home. The chef navigates through the pitfalls of grilling multiple things at the same time like an experienced captain sails the sea. Seeing him wearing a shirt of german soccer legend and part-time philosophy practitionist Lukas Podolski from his time at 1. FC Köln leaves me fighting to hide a tear of joy. A beautiful girl in the original Eddie’s shirt. Family. After a short time, seconds, not minutes, our beer arrives. Shortly after fries and burgers. Knife? Fork? Not here. A good burger is a burger that can be eaten by the most basic tools, the lord has given the meaningless creatures called man. Hands. That procedure leaves a bit more-than-average waste, but at least everything is paper. Totally plastic free, good. During our visit, we almost ate there three times. The third visit failed because Eddie’s closes at 11 P.M., so hurry up! Generally you could eat there at any time. For breakfast, lunch, or a romantic dinner. Farewell my dear friends. One day I...
Read moreNegative reviews surrounding their service are no surprise. The burger is truly mouthwatering, but their hiring choices seem to favor individuals lacking basic manners and courtesy. Unless you're covered head to toe in tattoos, you might as well be invisible to them. In my case, my friend and I patiently waited in line for about 5 minutes, clearly being the first ones there but also clearly being ignored. However, when their Machine Gun Kelly-looking buddies showed up, the waitress came and asked them for their orders. I immediately questioned this unfair treatment, but it only made things worse. The waitress flat out refused to answer and gave off an "I'm too cool to admit a mistake" vibe. Instead, a neck tattooed goon rudely asked us what we wanted. They outright denied my friend's request for a double patty burger, claiming they needed to reserve some for later in the night. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to suggest that he pay for two separate burgers and then they could add the second patty. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. These repeated negative experiences have led me to share this review and commit to avoiding that place entirely. It's truly disheartening, considering their burger...
Read moreComing from the US, and living in Barcelona for about 7 years now, finding a burger to the level of an IN N OUT burger or Chick fil-a has been an impossible task. While I have had some decent normal and chicken burgers, nothing comes close to the buffalo chicken burger that I devoured and enjoyed every bite of for lunch today.
The quality of the chicken was incredible, bathed in delicious buffalo sauce, the two complimented each other and the taste profiles blended together like a beautiful symphony performed in my taste buds.
Fries, an easy recipe but difficult to perfect, where some of the best damn fries I have tried in Spain. Dipping these bad boys in the Jalapeno sauce, graciously provided by Fast Eddies was a delicious compliment to the perfection that was the buffalo chicken sandwich.
Having tried some of the "top" burger, and chicken burger spots in BCN, this one takes the cake. I am not exaggerating when I say, quality and flavor like this can only be matched by burgers found in Dinners, or high quality chains such as IN N OUT in the United States.
Thank you Fast Eddie's, I will definitely be...
