I had this place high on my list of places to try on my vacation given the photos and the positive reviews, I was looking forward to an enjoyable meal. I never write poor reviews but my god this was the worst service I have EVER experienced in my entire life. we started strong- seated quickly and given menus. It took a little while for someone to come take our order but the place is quite popular and very busy so I understood the wait. A man eventually came and took our order for drinks and food, where he verified what we were asking for by repeating it back. We ordered the olives, Bread with tomato, Chicken wings, Oxtail croquettes and grilled calamari to start. The drinks came quickly as did the olives so we were enjoying our time. Here is where it went downhill. We finished the olives and then sat for 30 mins before the chicken wings arrived. It’s important to note that in this time, 4 other tables had been seated around us and had already gotten meal items like the bread we had ordered but hadn’t seen. But it’s busy, so I tried to respect the that. We then waited an hour and a half for anything else to arrive. During this time, they brought over a plate that we did not order so we sent it back and our waiter came over saying we ordered it but I corrected that we did not and it must have been a miscommunication between us which happens! Totally fine. However, not only did the tables around us all receive multiple plates in this time, but our waiter refused not make eye contact with us, nor would any other staff member, for us to even ask what was going on. We had dirty plates on the table, empty cups and were actively trying to flag anyone down to just get the check and leave. As our waiter was serving the table behind us their food we finally got his attention asking for the check. He did not stop but simply kept walking and quickly said “it’s coming”. At this point it’s late and we’re exhausted and hungry and confused. We waited another 10 minutes and finally the bread comes out and then the croquettes, both of which were fine and not worth an hour and a half wait. Then another waiter tried to give us a plate of different croquettes saying they were the oxtail croquettes that we ordered, which means the ones we ate were not what we ordered. Our waiter came over and was speaking to the other waiter, seemingly realizing he made a mistake and gave us the grilled octopus which was extremely rubbery, sub par and cold. We were so over it and ready to leave, but we literally could not. It took another 30 minutes AT LEAST to get the check. We tried flagging down ANYONE to get a check and no one would make eye contact with us or they would avoid us altogether. They would go to the tables behind us asking if they wanted refills or dessert or more food but never ours. I personally asked 3 different people for the check, all of which said “yes of course” and then they literally never came back. They continued to walk around avoiding our table. We tried flagging down our waiter and he also made eye contact and went the other way. Finally we got a waiter and asked for the check. I’m assuming he told our original waiter to do his job because he came over after another 10 mins, not looking at us or speaking to us to pay. Not a single staff member asked if we needed anything and the upsetting thing is they were doing it for LITERALLY every other table around us. We were extremely polite the whole time, l don’t know if they just didn’t like us or something but genuinely was such an awful experience I will never set foot in here ever again. The food was not awful but it was not good compared to places that had better service and were cheaper. Coming from someone who knows people working in the food service industry, I am always trying to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt especially ones that are large and busy and will be the first to side with the staff but this was so so poor it made the meal incredibly unsatisfying. I would give it 0...

Read moreWhat can I say…. Well, a lot! First and foremost, dear Luis, who was really seemed to understand us even though he had never met us! Somehow he knew how much food we needed, and what we needed. Even when I had asked him ‘Which of these three’ he recommended something entirely different and I’m sure we could not have been more happy with another result! When we first arrived we were a little hesitant to eat here as we had not booked anywhere and all other places booked out and this lovely lady who greeted us said ‘no problem’. But the reason they weren’t booked out is because it’s actually a rather large restaurant, though still feels very cosy and quaint! We ordered chickpeas, clams, chicken wings, a meatball thingy all DELICIOUS and without fault! And sangria yum then the dessert was another that the great Luis recommended I can’t remember what it was called but like a sweet tortilla (with a dash of pleasing salt) with a dollop of vanilla ice cream then what else I can’t remember but such a perfect ending to our meal. ALL staff were lovely, dishes promptly served, I felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant the way Luis treated us but I saw he’s just a genuine guy with all of us who were lucky enough to eat here tonight! Also we sat in the courtyard on a beautiful evening, well, it rained (most picturesque) and Luis accommodated everyone in the courtyard area with such ease. And then the bill, VERY reasonable! I did love this place for so many reasons. Thank you for a...
