We were a family of 2 teenage kids who happened to walk around the area at noon this week and decided to stop by for a quick lunch. Half the restaurant was empty, and we were seated immediately. The barmaid seemed busy being friendly with local customers and ignored us who clearly looked tourists. It took us 20 minutes to order five items as she kept walking away after each one. Since there were customers waiting behind us, we gave up our seats as soon as we finished eating. I noticed the barmaid, who showed any interest in us, speaking to the bartender as if accusing us of dining and dashing! When I called out, 'La cuenta, por favor' she seemed relieved, haha. In my country, we have a saying that translates to 'No first-time customers allowed,' and I understand that your bar might follow a similar policy and we all knew about Barcelona's anti-tourism protests this summer. Staff were impeccable and accommodating despite a challenging set of circumstances (very busy, had a vegan, and a gluten intolerant diner). Despite this, they pulled out excellent courses for everyone, we're attentive to everyone and were so so good with checking in on us.
Price was reasonable at €40 odd euros each for food and drink.
