Cal Soci — Restaurant in Barcelona

We had an incredible dining experience at this place! Every dish we tried was SO TASTY, bursting with rich flavors, and the quality of the cooking truly stood out. The "squid with white beans" was unbelievably tender, as was the "cod with sobrasada and sanfaina"—both simply melted in the mouth. The "meatballs with tomato" paired with "Braves Cal Soci" were another highlight. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned, soft, flavorful, and herb-infused.

For dessert, we tried the homemade tiramisu and cheesecake, both of which had deep, rich creamy flavors and a perfect texture.

The chefs here clearly have top-notch skills, and we’re so glad our local host recommended this spot. It seems to be a favorite among locals, and we can see why!

The only downside is that portion sizes are on the smaller side, so you’ll likely need at least two dishes to feel satisfied. But with food this delicious, we didn’t mind...

La primera cosa que cal entendre és que el local és molt petit. I exageradament aprofitat. Per tant, et sents anxovat. I hi ha molt de soroll. I quan aquest abaixa, posen la música més alta.

La segona cosa, és que vol representar una taverna menorquina. No hi he estat en cap, però volen portar molts plats típics. De la vintena de plats, menorquins en deuen haver-hi cinc, poder sis, la majoria no ho són. Cada un valori com vulgui la proposta.

Van menjar, formatges típics de Menorca, i clar a part de tres varietats (per edat) de Maó... Poca cosa més, car i pobre. Poder estaria millor fer una ració de maó vell. Que consti que els formatges són bons.

Musclos, a la mantega i sàlvia. Normal, tant per la qualitat del musclo, com pel resultat, no el repetiria.

Calamarsets amb mongeta seca, ESPECTACULARS. Una salsa ben feta, ben equilibrats, gustosos... el millor.

Bacallà amb sobrassada. Molt ben cuinat, el bacallà es desfeia (ni una sola espina!!) i la sobrassada s'integrava molt bé, els trocets depa torrat de guarnició, que em va tirar enrere al principi, tota una troballa. Recomanable sens dubte.

Mandonguilles amb salsa de tomàquet. Bona carn, la salsa de tomàquet semblava de pot. Normal sense més, millor que els musclos.

Tiramisú de postres, cremós, bona textura amb un punt de cafè, sense licor (?!) i sobretot molt menorquí.

Pa amb tomàquet, per fi un bon pa ben untat, amb l'oli gustós i al punt de sal.

Cafè correcte. No era dolent, però tampoc força bo.

Carta de vins gran i amb bona relacio qualitat preu. N'hi havia bastant per menys de 30€. Ens vam decantar per un orange del Penadés.

Em costa entendre que els plats amb salsa no els serveixin amb pa per sucar. Si el vols, el pagues a part. Per mi és un error dels grans. Puja 1 € el...

If I think of Sant Antoni - I think of this place!

This is the quintessential “home bar” with the best home feel served over vermouth and meatballs late at night. There’s nothing more comforting than coming over here and seeing the friendly faces serving you drinks and yummy dishes while catching up with friends. Cal Soci is truly where local atmosphere comes alive in Barcelona ins the best way possible.
