Caldeira — Restaurant in Barcelona

Worst place in Barcelona. Our waiter was drunk. But not happy/friendly drunk. Drunk drunk. Can’t form a complete sentence or walk while avoiding furniture drunk.

He was rude and very aggressive. I felt personally unsafe around him. My friends also felt intimidated by his behaviour.

Despite my reticence to order food (very questionable food hygiene standards - I could see into the kitchen from my seat and I had concerns) we decided to just give it a go. The food order never arrived.

In hindsight this was probably the best outcome. I have coeliac disease so cannot eat gluten, and when I tried to understand the options available to me, the waiter helpfully suggested that I order the pasta (hint: pasta has all of the gluten).

We tried to pay for the bottle of wine we’d ordered so that we could make a hasty escape. When the bill came, we had no idea what we’d actually been charged for. It must have been difficult for said waiter to read the screen and enter our order - this is an unfortunate consequence of double (treble?) vision. I had to ask my partner (a man) to sort it out as I was not safe or comfortable doing so myself.

In a city that is so vibrant and full of life, with such incredible cuisine, do not waste your time going here....

First, I went there cause of the good review. Atmosphere : not bad not good, a proper clean of the table before sitting would have been good. It was a great surprise as we were very tired and hungry and we stumbled upon this place!!! There was a Daily menu set-list,you have a choice from a few starters,a few main dishes and desserts,and a drink included for a very pleasant set price.We were a group of 5 people and we ordered pretty much one of every dish and they were extremely delicious ❤️ I strongly recommend this place,non touristic,local place...
