Bodega Amposta — Restaurant in Barcelona

I've visited this small restaurant last year and was impressed with the food and service last time. This year I came with a friend saying that I liked this restaurant a lot. The same waiter seemed bored, did not recommend anything and seemed somehow unmotivated anymore. However, the food is still very good. For me it was strange that the Cigrons amb carabiners cost now 24,50 instead of 14,50 last year. And the portion is the same. For extra prawns you need to pay even more. Strange increase... I would say it is overpriced for the chickpeas. The artichokes are wonderful, the Ensalada rusa is also favourite. Unfortunately, this time we sat upstairs and in summer time it was extremely hot. I could not enjoy the food, it was too too hot there, not fresh air at all. Initially we wanted to order more food and some dessert. Good that we have not ordered a bottle of wine, because we had to leave, as we both felt bad sitting there. Strange feeling... I really liked this restaurant first time, but this year I would name it a disappointment. I put 4* now just as an average for...

Excellent food, outstanding service and overall lovely restaurant. We came for dinner tonight and had a lovely evening. The staff were patient, friendly and kind! We ordered many of the dishes to share with our favourites being the poached eggs and mushroom, la bomba and the cheese and honey. But we enjoyed them all! Really great value for how good the food is. We were sat next to a large party who were definitely enjoying themselves (as they should!) however they were rather loud - when we went to pay our waiter offered to invite us to our dessert and coffee to thank us for bearing with the larger party. This, while unnecessary, was a lovely surprise and generous offer - we really appreciated it! Will definitely be back with friends again or also would really recommend for a work/corporate dinner. Maybe they had a bad night. I ate there with a colleague tonight, and we got the tasting menu.We were excited to try all the different courses. I am so sorry to say that every one of them was hideously bad. We only ate about half, if not less, of each course. It was truly horrible. We both love seafood, but every seafood item tasted hideously fishy. We told the manager and he took some money off the bill, as I'm sure he saw that we were not eating much of what was served to us. Neither of us are even remotely picky eaters. Before the last course was served, we canceled the rest of our meal and paid and left. Unfortunately it was a horrible experience.
