This place was a bit of a mixed bag. While the food was really excellent - we both had the six (or seven?) course set menu - and offers interesting combinations plus a lot of culinary bang for the buck, we noticed quite a few rough edges. The overall atmosphere was, well, rather rustic, with a couple of (too bright) lights dangling from the high ceiling. The service started off well, then turned rather lacklustre. The 80s playlist blaring from the tinny speakers didn’t help. Neither did the two bottles of wine we, well, tried: The first was a 2021 Endogen Vermell, a Rosé which tasted nothing like the description on the menu. It arrived cloudy and with a smell of sherry - signs of a wine well past its prime. (A gentleman behind the counter tasted the wine, and insisted that it was fine. Oh well.) We agreed to pay for the bottle, yet had it replaced with a Spanish Riesling/Viognier blend. The bottle which arrived was a 2018 vintage, i. e. five years old. Uh oh. This wine again had the tell-tale sherry notes of a wine past its best-before date, and tasted of not much beyond sour. Maybe we had really bad luck, however, while we can highly recommend the excellent food at this place (the deserts were simply amazing), maybe better have it...
Read moreBest restaurant in the area. We went for dinner and ordered 8 dishes to share, I would easily order each and every one of them again they were all so good: it is very rare that this happens. Excellent preparation and presentation of all dishes, they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. The menu is seasonal and they use lots of local ingredients as well so the menu changes every now and then. As mentioned by others, I do wish they could dim the lights a bit, but you get used to it. Highly recommended, we...
Read moreA small restaurant with good options of wines, including the natural ones. The space of the restaurant is limited as scarce tables are offered. However, the service and the food were great, not to mention the adequate recommendations from the staff. The Russian salad with truffles mayonnaise is innovative and surprisingly tasty. The chicken cannelloni and cod fish were just delicious. Suggesting the spot whenever you are nearby Poblenou, and to guarantee there’s meal, reservation...
