If you want to experience tantalizing Mediterranean cuisine, you must visit MINYAM in Poble Nou. I first visited this amazing restaurant for my birthday. I came with friends simply for their tapas and drinks. I enjoyed it so much that I returned for dinner and to try out their lunch menu within 72 hours.
In my initial visit, I was greeted by their exuberant friendly staff. Shortly after I also met the owner, who made us feel at home. All of their tapas are great. But you absolutely have to try their 6€ oyster + glass of cava. I couldn't stop eating those oysters - they were so fresh and so smooth. And, the cava was the perfect compliment to quench my thirst.
I came in my second visit for dinner salivating for their award-winning Volcano Classic Smoked Rice Seafood and Mushrooms. Certainly their masterpiece, this wonderful dish is chuck full of a variety of indulgent unique flavors. For dessert, I tried their Pineapple Ceviche, which consisted of juicy pineapple chunks simmered in a tangy and spicy tiger milk. Whoa - that was the best rice dish and the best dessert that I ever had.
By the way, all of the wines I savored in MINYAM were top notch.
On my third visit for lunch, I had to try their menu. For only 14,90€ they served me a fine feast. First I enjoyed Grilled Bokchoy with a slightly sweet, creamy, succulent sauce. Then I had a Grilled fish with boiled sweet potatoes. Boy, was this meal finger licking good! Plus, the red smooth tempranillo wine was very pleasing to my pallette. Then for dessert, I had to have their pineapple - one more time!
Unquestionably, from their meats and fish to their fruits to their wines, MINYAM cuts no corners buying the highest in quality food products. In the words of The Terminator, "I'll be back" and ready to devour the next classic meal surprise.

RESTAURANT À ÉVITER !!
Food: 56€ (following below comment by the owner, the paella is minimum per 2 people and the photo below 5 slices is the portion for 2 people. Indeed it’s 28€ per person but the food is 56€ for two and 5 slices for 2 people!!!) for 5 small slices of duck breast. Never heard of this before even in a Michelin star restaurant. Moreover, the food is not fresh as the sashimi tastes very weird. Wine is cheap (4 euro a glass) but small portion(less than 100ml).
service: Asked for water from the start of meal till the end, all other tables are served but us not for the whole 2 hours and 24 minutes.
Atmosphere: very few people were there when we entered the restaurant at 8:30 pm. But gradually people came for a drink or so but only around 30-40% full so we can easily book a table on Saturday night 10 min before the meal. (No local people will come, it’s only for foreigners because easier to get their money hehe)
The whole restaurant has a strong scent of benzoin, dowdy and cheap. Probably the chef used some kind of cheap wood to heat the rice for paella. Pay attention to it as some such kind of smoke MIGHT...
Read moreThis restaurant was a short walk from the AirBnB, we staying at. It was the best meal we had in Barcelona. We ordered tapas from the daily special menu. A wonderful mushroom asparagus plate made with Ceps mushrooms from France. These mushrooms almost have meat consistency. We had the Barrata salad, which had tomatoes, lambs quarter, and the mozzarella. The third tapas we had was a Dorado ceviche. We followed this with the smoked rice dish which had vegetables and seafood. While this dish looked like a paella, tasted different. When it came you could smell the smokey rosemary. It was a wonderful dish. This restaurant seems to be an excellent neighborhood restaurant that gets some tourists. The service was...
