Can Punyetes | Gràcia — Restaurant in Barcelona

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The food was of poor quality and seemed to be prepared with little care. The potato omelette was inauthentic, with raw eggs that soaked the plate, and the fish in the esqueixada was torn rather than cut, with a flavor and smell that suggested it was far from fresh. It was tasteless and almost inedible—definitely a 0/5 ⭐️.

The service was equally unsatisfactory. The waitress had limited Spanish, showed no urgency in addressing the issues with the food, and offered no solutions—only apologies and a dismissive remark that "this is how we do it here... you have a standard too high." It was clear she did not grasp the problem. 0/5 ⭐️ for service as well.

To make matters worse, there was absolutely no resolution offered. Despite the owner later claiming in an emotionally charged response to our review that we were offered a chance to speak with someone in charge—which simply wasn't true—nothing of the sort happened. I even personally checked the kitchen to find someone in charge and found no one.

I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's heartbreaking to see how far it's fallen from the place I once had fond memories of. What a disaster it has become.

No frills meal, absolutely none, at all, house wine was very vinegaresk (served in tumbler mugs!) and so started me on a sour note. main dishes were pretty tastey but super super basic (see pics, literally the meat + a potato, so not much for the pallette and bit dry)... Selection of dishes on menu had some unusual options and regrettably i didn't try the tapas this time - regrettably because this place is always packed so feel like missed the good stuff somehow with my visit... Based on the prices for what you get and overall satisfaction from what i (and my party) had... and considering the other really great places nearby, i will not be back - unless i get a recommendation on a different dish or i feel like an 'eastenders diner' style meal instead of a 'restaurant' style (at restaurant prices) - not an insult but that's whats...

It worth mentioning that here you will find some dishes (p.e.: snails) that other restaurants don't offer, but that doesn't means that snails are better than sushi. That beeig said, It was not a memorable experience for my party of six. We were specting to at least enjoy a decent 'pan tumaca' (the catalan bread with tomato) but it was not the case. The rest of the dishes didn't impressed any of us either (he lamb chops were good enough though). In regards to desserts, the 'crema catalana' made the trick for rating Can Punyetes with one (1) star.
