Nola Cocktail Bar & Food — Restaurant in Barcelona

One of the latest places in Barcelona that preys on American tourists. They offer tap water and charge u €4 euros! Been all over Europe and never got charged €4 for tap, even airports dont charge that much for the bottled one! Stumbled on this place only cuz we were hungry and desperate to eat as the nearest places were closed. Got mufulettas and jamon, pretty forgettable. The menu doesn't reflect Nola at all but we didnt care. Staff seemed nice and joyful untill the bill came in. Waitress asked if i wanted water, i said yes, she talked to the bartender a long time, and he brought tap water only to charge me €4 for agua!  Ridiculous. I guess that's what they were talking about. "Charge for water, they wont care". I worked in the service industry for a long time and also never had such a ridiculous pour of wine that is the size of a taster. Had to order again to offset the first poor pour and then gave up, resorting to beer. I shouldve complained about the water charge and pours but we were tired and didnt wanna kill our honeymoon vibe. Not even the Michelin star restaurant earlier dared to charge us for tap water and to sell overpriced food. Guys, eat earlier, and if u find urself here, get beer...

I really wanted to like this place, it has great reviews and an extensive unique cocktail list.

The place is super cramped and uncomfortable to stay for more than one drink.

There was one staff remember working to make all cocktails, serve and take payments which was so slow.

The cocktails simply aren’t worth the price. They are tiny most of the time in quantity, and the flavours are average at best. 2/5 of us had a terrible cocktail and the rest were acceptable to drink but not worth the prices charged here.

There’s many other places in Barcelona that charge almost half the price for the same quality cocktails.

Bueno pues, sobresaliente. Ir a "coctelerías" es algo arriesgado para nosotros, no nos suele gustar el alcohol porque sí y tomar según que margaritas o piñas coladas se puede convertir en una experiència desagradable o incluso tomadura de pelo... Todo lo contrario de lo que nos pasó en el Nola. Sin ser grandes entendidos del mundo de la coctelería, apenas conocemos algunos clásicos, si que sabemos diferenciar entre un buen cocktail y un "cocktail" y en el Nola los sirven con Mayúsculas! Empezamos la noche picando algo de comer allí mismo y la comida sin ser gran cosa cumple, original, pero sin más. Lo bueno empieza cuando pides el bebercio 😅 Cómo no entendemos mucho optamos por dejar decidir al barman por nosotros y empezamos con un cocktail de ginebra, menta y algo más 😅 que se te iba la olla, y otro de vermout pomelo Ginger ale? Ni idea pero otro espectáculo. La cantidad de matices que te daban esos cócteles , la entrada, el paso medio y el regusto final eran dignos de un premio nobel. Seguimos con con otro par, uno ahumado y algo de whisky creo😅 y otro de ron haha no recordamos los nombres sorry. Otro espectáculo para el paladar, sobretodo el ahumado con una entrada acuerada que me flipó, parecía el hombre leather de tom ford en bebida. Hahaha. Por último mi acompañante desistió de la tercera copa y yo me atreví con un whisky más licor de hiervas de lo más original. De postre nos regalaron un par de chupitos que debido a mi estado no recuerdo, sólo que estaban geniales. En general una muy buena experiencia, música blues ambiente relajado a la hora que fuimos nosotros, y muy buen servicio . Precios bastante buenos entre 12 y 15 euros la copa pero todo y parecer un precio alto para un "cubata" te aseguro que es otra cosa.
