I am not sure if this is the right page to review the "ApartEasy" apartment on Santa Tecla 3, in the Gracia district of Barcelona, but I will give it a go anyway...||||We were looking for an apartment to rent for 5 nights while in Barcelona and came across this one whilst browsing the internet. It suited our needs perfectly for what we were after - a safe, pleasant apartment, close to tourist sites and public transport. The location of this apartment was excellent and for that reason alone I would stay here again.||||We booked the apartment via Booking.com and I have to say that the photos we saw on that site did NOT match the apartment I chose, compared to the one we were allocated, so we were very disappointed. We were given Apartment #21 (on the second floor) but this was NOT the apartment I chose according to the photos that Booking.com offered. This is very misleading of Booking.com, so be aware of this if you book via Booking.com in the future, what you think you will get (and booking) is not necessarily the same. ||||The apartment was basic but had everything we needed to make our 5 night stay comfortable. We loved the washing machine (and we used it), a drying rack is provided. There is a small, equipped kitchen with the necessary basic utensils. The bedroom was small and basic, a double bed and cupboard space, with a TINY but cute balcony. The bathroom had half a bath. Yes, "half a bath".... the function of which probably served to catch the water from the overhead shower as there was no bath plug provided. There is a TINY lift in the block. ||||As mentioned before, we LOVED the location! The downside was the noisy, narrow busy street (there is a Bingo Hall at the end of the road and patrons walk down Santa Tecla in the early hours talking loudly with no concern or respect for the residential neighbourhood). The busy main road at the end of this street can get noisy at times with general traffic, sirens and motorbikes. That being said, we could close the old fashioned wooden shutters and turn the air-con on, that seemed to help to block out most of the noise.||The Upside was that this apartment was within walking distance to many touristy spots. Easy walking distance to the famous Familia Segrada, Las Ramblas, Le Pedrera, Casa Mila, Placa Catalunya,Placa del Sol, Passeig de Gracia and the Diagonal Metro train station (giving you easy metro access to most parts of the city).||||I would only recommend if this is the sort of apartment you are looking for.||I would choose to stay here again only because of the...
Read moreMixed Emotions. Good to Bad would be the easiest way to explain Aparteasy and this apartment. The Staff are pleasant and friendly. The apartment suited the purpose and had a good terrace and the ability to be a better space. It did have Character, but this was lost among its Tatty, non maintained appearance. While staying there we found the Shower head sprayed water at odd angles due to a much needed shower head replacement, a wobbly tap and sink in the kitchen and the air conditioning in the bedroom was not functioning properly and pumped out warm air. These faults were mentioned after a few days to the staff, but unfortunately no action was taken and nothing was repaired. During our stay, there were a few thunderstorms. As a result the apartment flooded, pouring water down the walls, on to the electric plugs and all down the sofa. We soon realised this is an ongoing problem as the plaster on the walls was already cracked and falling away, and this was made worse by more rain. When we mentioned the rain problem the staff told us they were aware of this but could do nothing. A simple bit of maintenance could have resolved all these problems. To add to our list, also, during our stay the lift went out of action and was unusable. Thankfully this problem was dealt with swiftly by the staff and the lift was back in operation. It is a shame the same care and attention towards the lift problem was not also directed towards the condition of the apartment. The issues above did not ruin our stay but made us a little disheartened that with such a potentially lovely apartment, smaller issues could have been dealt with or improved to...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience with ApartEasy. We did not get the apartment we asked for. 2 weeks before arrival, they said they had a problem. So we arrived, feeling a bit leary. Perhaps other apartments are in better condition, based on the other reviews here, but our first impression of our apartment was not good. The floors were not finished, and actually dangerous to walk on unless the area rug is put on top to prevent tripping. The floors also felt uneven and not solid; as if there are newspapers lined underneath the parquet flooring. There are holes in the walls where hooks and fixtures have fallen off. Although the kitchen was equipped, there are many necessities missing. We asked for a water kettle, which we got promptly. We stayed for 6 weeks and after a few weeks, we asked for a vacuum cleaner which we also got promptly. This apartment advertised sleeps 5, but the mattress of the pull-out sofa is of very poor quality. You can feel the springs on your back so our guests were not comfortable the first night. We asked for another mattress and they tried to sell us another apartment for a good price. The girls are ApartEasy were great. They did their best to accommodate us. The views were excellent -- we saw Tibidabo in the distance, The Balcony was private and we enjoy the afternoon sun. It's too bad, because we would recommend this apartment if the basic...
