We came across this restaurant while strolling the streets of Barcelona. We weren't able to find any tables at the other restaurants we walked past so when we saw there was a table here we decided to stay. We ordered the "Surtido de Tapas" which was an assortment of 4 different tapas-fried calamari (squid), potatoes with aioli type sauce, seasoned pork bites and garlic mushrooms. The calamari was just OK. It wasn't hot like I prefer my calamari to be (it wasn't cold, just not as hot as I prefer). The potatoes were good with a tasty aioli type sauce, the mushrooms were my favorite (very hot and seasoned perfectly!) and the pork was seasoned superbly. We also ordered tomato bread and the waiter put in 2 orders without asking if we wanted 1 order or 2. We were not able to finish 2 orders. We sat outside and loved watching all the people walk by on the street. The waiter wasn't overly attentive to us and we had to ask for our check twice. It seemed like he had too many tables he was responsible for. With tip we spent...
Read moreNew Years Eve, we managed to get a place for dinner after deciding to stay in Barcelona for a while. We lucked out! We had some tapas to start (pretty good) then a big plate of paella mixt and a smaller plate of paella marisco. Both were fabulous. Two nieces had steaks and said they were tasty--these came the most quickly.
We were not expecting great things--it looks pretty plain for a restaurant. The reviews convinced us, and weren't wrong. Service was relatively quick: they had a table for our party of 9 open for about 80 minutes, and we were served and done eating with 15 minutes or so to spare. My niece had a Strawberry Mojito and said it was tasty and mixed quite strong. We did have to convince them to bring us a jug of tap water, but they loosened up about that when a few beers were also had. All in all, a...
Read moreWe found this place on accident after the restaurant we were heading to was closed. It was a beautiful night and we wanted to outside but all the tables were full. These are juat small tables on the sidewalk so if ambiance is your thing go elsewhere. We sat inside and before we could order, they had found and cleaned a recently vacated table and moved us outside. We ordered a lot of food croquettes, chorizo, octopus and paella. The octipus seemed pretty fresh, the chorizo was delicious. The paella had great flavor and the rose wine they helped us decide on was also great. We were going to return here on our last night and unfortunately went to Luigi's instead because it had better overall reviews and was closer. That was a big mistake as the food is far better...
