Comida Codac — Restaurant in Barcelona

Comida Codac is more of an aesthetic, rather than pure culinary journey. In my opinion it’s for those who are not pure foodies but rather, the people who see the restaurant experience as something more sensory, evocative, and creative. Personally, although one can’t fault the quality of the raw material and the creative attempt to combine and conjure, the results were not stellar enough to support the price. I admire the effort and obvious endeavor required to bring everything together , including the friendly service, the unique decor, and the imagination personified in the menu cards, table covers, and napkins. They are all details of a unique offering. But I just wasn’t really enamored with the combinations of ingredients, except perhaps, the rice, prawn and wafer version of an “ onigiri”. The mood music was somewhat “ off beat” to a point where I felt my journey at Comida Codac could have done without it. Uncomfortable. I went to Comida Codac knowing that I was taking a risk. It didn’t quite work for me but I still admire the effort. Keep going....

We went there for diner after being interested by the instagram profile. The place was empty the hole night, unfinished, and too silent and this was quite uncomfortable. We ordered the small menu. The food was meant to be very experimental but the textures and flavours were not always pleasant. Everything was mushy, almost liquid and mixing flavours that usually you wouldn’t put together, and was mainly very strange in the mouth… The food came all in strange and cold look containers, and was not very easy to eat. My culinary knowledge may not be the adequate to apreciate the experience but to me was not pleasant. The staff on the other hand was lovely, super helpful, friendly, polite, very nice at every moment, P.s. in any moment we asked for wine or to bring a bottle of wine from home… 😂 the owner is obviously mistaken the guests in his answer… and besides that, he is reviewing his own place from different fake accounts, just need to see how many 5 stars reviews are posted from profiles where this is the only review...

Ante todo decir que mi comentario/opinión es verdadero, ya que he visto que cuando la opinión no es favorable , parece que no es real. Fui con la idea de lo que habia visto en Joc de cartes. Ahora ya no hacen ese tipo de comida ni hay carta, tal y como nos comento la camarera, ahora hacen un menu cerrado de 9 platos por 60€. Todo esto yo no la sabia, fallo mio por no informarme antes de ir. pero quise probar igualmente. Mi opinion es la siguiente: La decoración , a mi no me gusto, parece el vestuario de una piscina, pero eso es muy subjetivo, una cosa si, poner un radiador debajo de la mesa, que puede llegar a molestar las piernas, no creo que sea el lugar mas adecuado. La musica de fondo, a mi me sobra, pero tambien es subjetivo. La atención de la camarera, muy correcta y profesional. Aunque , y eso imagino que no es culpa suya, llevar una hora y cuarto y que te hayan traido 5 de los nueve platos , platos que los comes en 1 minuto, me parece muy muy lento. Con respecto a la comida, La presentación esta trabajada y visualmente esta muy bien, aunque la cantidad de comida por plato es muy pequeña, pero, y siento decirlo, el problema es que para mi la comida tiene una gran falta de sabor y coherencia con las temperaturas y con una textura en boca muy artificial. De los 9 platos , al 5º le pedi a la camarera i se lo dije en privado, que no me trajera mas, que no gustaban y no estaba disfrurando nada. Mis dos ultimos platos ya se los habia comido mi hijo, al cual habia invitado a comer. Mi sorpresa fue que al no querer seguir yo con el menu, la camarera, muy amable eso si, nos dijo que no le seguirian sirviendo el resto del menu a mi hijo, por que segun ella, no quedaba bien para su imagen, que el siguiera comiendo y yo no, Aunque a el tampoco le gustaba mucho, si tenia curiosidad por probar el resto de platos. Tambien mi hijo pedio una bebida, que segun el era malisima y que al ver la camarera que no se la bebia, le ofreció cambiarsela por otra , cosa que hizo. Le pregunte que tal esta y me dijo que; esta se podia beber. Referente al precio, es muy relativo, si te gusta mucho, aunque la cantidad de comida es minima, supongo que no lo encuentras tan caro, en mi caso como no me gusto nada, para mi es carisimo. Al final pague 75€ por dos medio menus y una bebida. En fin, es lo que tiene querer ir a un sitio diferente, es un riesgo para el restaurante y para el cliente. Pero, y aqui si no estoy nada de acuerdo con el restaurante, no querer seguir sirviendo la comida a un cliente por que al otro comensal no le ha gustado, me parece fuera de lugar, y creo que demuestra que os cuesta aceptar las opiniones cuando no son de vuestro...
