While the concierge staff were courteous and approachable, my overall experience at this hotel was highly negative.

The manager, Jordi Ciurana, was consistently discourteous from check-in through the check-out process. His behavior was unprofessional and created an unnecessarily hostile atmosphere.

The room I received did not match the description advertised at the time of booking, which I found misleading.

After my departure, the hotel charged my credit card for alleged damage. I did not cause any such damage, and the evidence provided did not substantiate the claim. This practice raises serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of their billing policies.

I stayed at Hotel Catalonia a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! The staff are really kind and helpful and speak really good English. They had no trouble providing gluten and lactose free breakfast when I asked for it. They even provided me with a (pre-paid!) gluten free lunch for the day after. The staff who checked talked me through the option and the staff who did my check out even made a fresh coffee with oatmilk to go! Fantastic service! As someone with intolerances I really appreciated how considerate and kind the staff were, and I experienced no stress when it came to food.

The room I stayed in was nice. Very fancy shower room.The only "downside" I experienced during my stay is that the rooms themselves are pretty noisy. I woke up at 3 am because one of my neighbours was moving stuff around in their room. But if you're someone who sleeps deeply this may not be an issue.

Overall I think the price vs quality ratio is very fair. Will definitely be coming back when I visit...

We loved this place from the moment we walked in. It is in a great location. Five minute walk to Barcelona Sants train station. Also five minutes from major subway lines. On check-in we were quite early yet reception said our room was ready vhey would have stored our luggage though. Maria at the desk was so helpful. She even helped us with suggestions for retirement areas around Spain and Portugal. When we mentioned the pillows were a little hard, they immediately found us softer ones. Our room on the fifth floor was excellent. A couple more English channels on TV would have been good but we rarely used it. Lol. There is an outside pool on the 7th floor. Breakfast is well stocked. The bar and restaurant are open in the evenings as well. We were always greeted every day with a smile and Ola. The walls were maybe a little thin.
