Cups & Coffee — Restaurant in Barcelona

Very close to the CAMP NOU in Barcelona, but despite that, not in a very touristic route - there is a great coffee shop named @cupsandcoffeebcn . Owned by a very nice couple - they have started a year and a half ago serving specialty coffee in Les Corts. - Their great service and quality of products served made them a very well-known cafeteria by locals and also by people who work in the neighborhood, as there are many offices around, especially medical services. Tony, the owner told me that most of their clients are locals go mainly for espresso, but there are some loyal clients already on the morning responsible for ending their @moccamaster_espana batch brew. - They are not roasters, so they usually work with city`s most known brands, having @familiaosorio.coffee great coffee as first choice for espresso, and then other brands such as @threemarkscoffee and @slow.mov for filtered methods. - Their cafe has a great space if you want to work from there and also counts with a space in the outside, perfect to enjoy your coffee in our always sunny Barcelona. - I had 2 espressos dobles from Familia Osorio, very well extracted, and left the place with a big smile...

A beautiful spot in a quieter area off the main streets. A beautiful large patio area which is dreamy for sitting in the sun with a slight breeze and inside the cafe is beautiful too. Lots of plants help make the aesthetic so wonderful.

I don’t speak much Spanish and the barista was able to speak to me in English which was great (so perfect spot for travellers like me!). He was super friendly.

I got a hot chocolate and a slice of banana bread - both were great! I did want to try their smoothies since it was a warmer day out but they’re being discontinued as it comes into winter time (next time I’ll try them).

100% recommend coming here for a chill hang with friends or solo to read or get...

Fui a esta cafetería porque tenía que ir a un funeral cerca y, antes de entrar al tanatorio, necesitaba hacer una videollamada para una reunión de trabajo que no podía cancelar.

Encontré este lugar, que me parecía perfecto, y pedí dos cafés para mi marido y para mí. Cuando llegué, comenté que tenía que utilizar mi portátil para la reunión y me informaron de que tenían una regla de no permitir portátiles en el bar para evitar que las mesas se quedaran ocupadas por mucho tiempo, lo cual entiendo perfectamente, sobre todo en horarios de alta demanda.

Les expliqué que mi reunión duraría solo 30 minutos y que justo tenía que ir al tanatorio, pero que no podía cancelar la llamada. A pesar de entender la situación, aceptaron que me quedara. Me senté en una pequeña mesa tipo barra pegada a la pared, en la que comencé mi videollamada. Al principio, todo bien, el lugar se fue vaciando y, en todo momento, no había ningún cliente esperando por una mesa. Sin embargo, al pasar ese tiempo, uno de los camareros vino a pedirme que guardara el portátil. Le pedí unos minutos más, pero su actitud fue claramente incómoda, casi me sentí como si estuviera haciendo algo mal por estar allí consumiendo café y trabajando de manera tranquila.

Me pareció muy poco empático, sobre todo considerando que les comenté que estaba pasando por un momento delicado debido al funeral y que tenía una llamada de trabajo que no podía cancelar. Nunca me había sentido tan presionada a dejar un sitio. Me sorprendió muchísimo la falta de empatía y amabilidad por parte del equipo. Fue un trato muy poco humano, considerando que solo estaba allí durante menos de 40 minutos, sin ocupar espacio que impidiera que otros clientes se sentaran.

Me fui con el portátil en mano y acabé la reunión que duró cinco minutos más de lo planeado en la calle.

Definitivamente no volveré, ya que la experiencia fue muy incómoda y me dejó una mala impresión sobre la actitud del personal. ( me pregunto tanto daño hacía yo por tener un portátil?) cero empatía...
