HAMMER 锤子川菜 — Restaurant in Barcelona

this was a surprise! we walked past this little restaurant when walking through barcelona, and had to stop for a little snack - it just looked too nice! we had beef marinated in soy sauce, and egg noodles.

🥩 beef marinated in soy sauce: this is potentially the nicest beef i have ever had. so flavourful, succulent and tender. yum. served with chilli flakes for dipping, this was a great side to have, however it was quite a bit portion and good for sharing.

🍜 egg noodles: another big portion! these egg noodles were delicious. they went perfectly with the beef. the proportion of vegetables, to egg, to noodles, was perfect. i have no complaints with this.

overall, WOW. i’m a big fan. i would love to come back here and try more of the food, as we just came in for a snack but it all looked delicious. when i travel, i usually stick to local cuisine, but i’m so glad i gave this a try! the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. we sat outside, but the inside was equally as beautiful. ordering via a qr code (one specific to each table which was impressive) was very handy, and the speed of the service was incredible. the staff were so friendly and i felt very welcomed. they also had a great range of chinese drinks (which i always like to try). i will definitely be coming back here again to try some more food,...

I don't know what to say. This could really be amazing BUT somehow they insist on making the plates just too spicy for europeans. In a way it is kind of funny. Making fun of us. But then what is the intention here. The flavour is really good. Products are well cooked. This could really be amazing. We've been there before, we already experienced too spicy, we specifically said we wanted less spicy and I believe they made it even more spicy. So what's the deal here. If you are from a western country you should probably go elsewhere unless you have been "introduced" somehow to what the proposition is.
