La Martita Cafè Restaurant — Restaurant in Barcelona

I've waited to leave this review because my group was probably one of their first customers and I didn't want to impact their business early on in case they were having an off-day. However after looking at the reviews and especially the tone of the owners response I feel compelled to give some honest feedback especially for my western tourist friends (or celiac).

We waited about 30-40 minutes for our food on a relatively non-busy day. I ordered a eggs Benedict and everyone ordered croquettes for themselves. My eggs Benedict was literally a raw egg, but it looks like they removed this from the menu lol. The croquettes were actually not croquettes, instead they were 1 single croquette for the price of a batch of croquettes even at gluten free places in Barcelona. I would say that their prices are borderline tourist trap prices relative to the cost of food in Barcelona. The owner states that "prices are subjective".. Well they're actually not. You have the right to set whatever prices you want but if the food, quality and service is not up to par.. Then don't be surprised if you don't have returning customers. Best place ever for gluten free and non gluten free people!!! As a celiac it’s difficult for me to find a place where i and my husband can enjoy a meal. Usually people without intolerances doesn’t like gluten free restaurants, but this place is definetly great for non gluten free, croquettes, bread and pastry are really good and non gluten free people can’t notice the difference. they even have vegan, vegetarían and carnivore options. We tried the Spanish potatoes, pulled pork tacos and the burger, oh and a Chai tea. It was all fine, potatoes were plentiful and the sauce was creamy. The pulled pork tacos weren't very flavorful but the toppings added some crunch and bold flavors. Eat over a plate these are messy.
