A disappointing experience. We were led here by the good reviews, which I have no idea where come from. Perhaps it is due to them encouraging you to leave a review, with a special card with a QR code they give you at the end.
The food is lackluster. How they manage to mess up a rib-eye steak is beyond me. It pretty much didn't taste of anything, except that it had an undesirable charred taste from the grill. It is unseasoned, and they just garnish it with some salt on the side. The grains of which vary between tiny flakes and proper stones, which meant that if I wanted my steak to taste of anything I had to use this, which resulted in either no taste in one bite, and a salt attack in the next (see image). All steaks are served with a half potato (?), which was also unseasoned and dry. The fries we ordered on the side were varying in size and type, limp, and lacked salt.
The restaurant itself is fine, and appeared clean. Not especially cozy, and the life size cardboard football players was a weird, out of place, touch, which serves no purpose. The restaurant is filled with smoke and steam from the grill in the kitchen.
Our main waiter was polite and well-versed in English, but the collective mood of the restaurant and staff did not feel particularly welcoming.
We got a 40% discount by using TheFork, so at least we confirmed that worked. I would never in my life willingly pay 30 euros for such a steak, and even with the discount I recommend you to stay clear. We left as soon as we had...
Read moreA love a hidden gem and this is one of those. Set back from the hussle and bussle on a quiet street. We were greeted by Gagi who was our waitress for the evening and she was fantastic. Explained the menu, chatted with us and she made us laugh, she was very welcoming and just a sweet lady. The food is amazing we both had the solomillo medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and super tasty, I wish I'd have taken a photo to show how generous the portions are, the bowl of fries is massive and can easily be shared between two, I recommend the grilled vegetables side dish also cooked perfectly. Oh and the chimichurre and pepper sauce are delicious. We decided to share dessert and had chocolate caramel crepe, OMG this is a naughty dessert and I don't think I'd have eaten it all on my own as it was very rich after the mammoth main course. We had Malbec to accompany our meal and this to was a nice bottle of red. In all the meal and service is worthy of an excellent review. Some may not like the out of the way location but you can sit inside (we sat out and it was nice and quiet) out of the abundance of restaurants in Barcelona this place should definitely be on your list of restaurants to visit during your trip. Thanks Gagi for making our...
Read moreThe reason I went was because of the average cost of 20-30euros on Google. I ended up paying close to 50euros for 1 meat dish, 1 side and 1 water.
The only way you end up paying 20-30euros is by having the chicken or the milanesa. Or 2 people having the parrilla made for 1.
The kitchen staff does not wear hairnet.
The meat is good (average Argentinian, not worth 35euros for a sollomilo with half a potatoe for a side).
The sides are 6uros each and are nothing special. We had fries, and some grilled vegetables. The cream potatoes were not creamy at all, very dry actually.
The staff is clearly untrained and/or unorganized. We asked for coffees that never arrived, we waited forever to pay.
I really should not have trusted the Google reviews. It makes no sense how a 2 months-old restaurant has more than 500 reviews. I left the restaurant really shocked because I expected more for a 4.9/5 average. I checked the profiles and clearly, a lot are faked and weirdly only reviewed this place and its sister place in Madrid.
Overall, I do not recommend. Please spend your money elsewhere. This restaurant does not have 4.9/5. Without the fake reviews, they would never pull...
