Món Việt — Restaurant in Barcelona

In short, as my friend described it very early in the dinner, it all was "very average".

Maybe I was expecting more from the meat dishes, but all I really got was meat tough to eat and rice that was just as tough (for the rice and beef meatballs).

Having to pay premium (since there's no regular menus for night time) for a little taste menu with a small bunch of rolls, a skewer with hard meat, meatballs that felt like were made of plastic due to the burnt rice and a soup, of which the "aroma" was way too potent to the nose and taste buds, was not really to the liking of either me or my friend.

I will give it to them though, the soybean sprouts salad was crunchy and refreshing, and the sundae dessert was interesting, but still we left not really so full after having to pay 30 bucks each (the price was due to having to pay for the drinks and dessert separately of the tasting menu that was already 16 bucks).

As of the place itself, what can I say, the decoration belongs more to a burger place trying to look like they sell supposedly genuine burgers (think of Timesburg if you've been to one) in a sort of suburb-themed restaurant, even though when I think of Vietnam I think more of nature and oriental street food vendors, but whatever...

The waiters were nice too, and that is always a good thing, but if at the end of the day, or rather meal in this case, you feel like the food was not worth the price or your time, like having nice servers really matters.

All in all, was an interesting experience, but from what my friend told me there are better alternatives (which just so happen to be closed down due to this pandemic), and for paying rather premium and seeing the 4+ star rating, we expected much more...

Ordered this on Glovo. Ordered three items. The egg rolls, prawn cakes, and spicy beef soup. The egg rolls and prawn cakes were astronomically bland and I couldn’t get past two bites for each dish. Absolutely overpriced for what you get and I’m upset this is presented as a Vietnamese restaurant to others. As a Vietnamese person these flavors are not new to me and I spent $40 euros on this meal. I wouldn’t pay normally suck it up but this upset me because it was just that bad. The nuoc Cham sauce was overly sour and bland. The egg rolls were under fried and mushy but even when eating it you can’t taste the pork. It literally just feels like I’m eating fried rice paper…. There was no seasoning in the pork. The prawn cakes were obviously reheated because it was hard and not as soft as what normal prawn cakes should be like. I was just very disappointed and I encourage others to make this at home because it will most likely taste better. I reviewed other people’s comments and it’s disappointing the chef considers this authentic Vietnamese dishes. It is a $400 plane ticket to go back to Vietnam…please go back and present this to them. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a beautifully designed space that feels both cosy and vibrant. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

On my most recent visit, I enjoyed a delicious beef Pho, while my partner had a chicken Pho, both of which were nothing short of perfection. The broth was rich and deeply flavoured, the beef was tender, and the balance of fresh herbs and spices made every spoonful an absolute delight. To finish, I indulged in a chocolate coulant, the perfect sweet ending warm, gooey, and simply irresistible.

Given its popularity, I highly recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant tends to be full most of the time. This is undoubtedly one of my favourite places in the city.
