The most dumbest customer service I’ve ever seen. If there are two of you and a group of 6 people in front of you in the queue waiting for a table, you will be forced to wait in line for an hour until the waiter can seat the group of 6 people, even though there are plenty of tables for two available. By the way, there is only one table for 6 people in this place, so you will have to wait a long time, despite the fact that half of the tables in the restaurant are free and no one is sitting there, but a not very friendly waitress will tell you that this is the rule and she refuses to delve into the fact that there is no logic in these actions.
The food is quite tasty, but we waited for too long, it is clear that the guys do not really pay attention to what goes to which table and bring food in random order.
It was especially strange that the barista spilled the coffee while carrying it to our table, supposedly taking it away to remake, but in the end he simply gave it to another waitress so that she would put the same spilled mug on our table.
But thanks to the waitress with dark hair and blonde strands around her face, she at least didn't spit in our food, because the way she threw mugs on our table, it felt like after the meal the staff here might beat you up.
Strange experience, I don't...
Read moreI had to wait in the queue to be seated whilst my friend hadn’t arrived yet. Once i was attended to be seated the waiter told me they could not give me the table as my friend needs to be there aswell. My friend was arriving in 2 minutes i said but she told me it’s company rules. I asked to already order myself and also that was not possible.
Once my friend arrived literally 2 minutes later we entered as the table was ready for us. Another waiter came and she said we had to wait outside. I told her that i was just called in but awaiting my friend, as she had arrived we would just take the table that was assigned to us.. the waiter (long hair dreads) said it was not possible as her colleague was busy she sent us outside.. literally 1 minutes later she opened the door again and asked us in. At this point I was in a really bad mood due to their bad service being provided. They handed us the qr code to order and within a few minutes the waiter came to our table to take our order. I told her to give us some time as I was still checking the menu on another option as my first choice was not available and she kept on inpatiently waiting next to our table so it felt very rushed.
Really bad service and overpriced food. (The...
Read moreFor a place which is rated 4.7 I was very disappointed with The Egg Lab. They have a nice menu with a lot of choice, they have some brunch classics and the prices are pretty standard for brunch in Barcelona. I was firstly disappointed with the coffee - bitter and needed sugar to make it drinkable (pretty clear they don’t have a trained barista here). If you have a brunch restaurant it’s quite essential to learn how to make a decent flat white. As for the foo, you know something is wrong when a quarter of the plate is a salad (to take up space), the other quarter are potatoes (to fool you into feeling you’re full) and then the other half is the actual food you ordered. I had the truffled eggs with salmon. “Truffled” in this case is just a flavouring because there was hardly any taste of truffle and there’s no way something can be that brown and not being able to taste this ingredient. The salmon was two small slices hidden under a sauce (check out the photo, you can hardly see any salmon), and the brioche was bite size. What I did enjoy were the eggs, they were cooked perfectly. It cost 37.50€ for two people, average price but in terms of quality I won’t go back to this...
