Micu Maku — Restaurant in Barcelona

My first time in Barcelona and I was searching for the original/ best Paella. TripAdvisor has great ratings so here I was. I had the Black Rice(cooked with squid ink) and I enjoyed every grain of it. Stefany, the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. I don’t speak Spanish but I felt like she knows what I wanted to say/ need without saying it. She noticed that I may need extra hand wipes, she brought it over, teared it open so it was ready to use- such a small gesture but I thought that was so thoughtful(some of my fingers cover with squid ink and it could be quite a task 😅). The bartender(apologies for not getting your name) was also very pleasant. I didn’t order any alcohol but when he walked by to serve other customers, he took the time to check on me and how things were going. The atmosphere is also very clean and relaxed. I had an unforgettable dining experience at Micu Maku in Barcelona! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a charming blend of modern decor and a cozy atmosphere. The menu offered a delightful selection of Mediterranean cuisine, each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.

A special mention to our waiter, Lee-Stefany, who made our evening truly exceptional. She was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her warm smile and genuine hospitality made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the night. Lee-Stefany’s recommendations were spot on, and her professionalism and kindness added a personal touch to our dining experience.

Micu Maku is a must-visit in Barcelona, and if you’re lucky enough to have Lee-Stefany as your waiter, you’re guaranteed a perfect evening....

Thank you so much to Lisa and team at the Sagrada Familia location for taking such good care of my party (there were 54 of us - Lisa closed the restaurant down and curated such an amazing 3-course dinner for all of us, ranging from kids to seniors!) Everyone was so thankful for the experience and loved all the cocktails and food served. Most importantly, my mother (whom we were celebrating her 80th birthday) definitely felt all the love. The paella was amazing (we tried it all - seafood, mixed w/ chicken, black rice and seafood noodles). All were so delish. I didn't try it - but a few that did said it was their best burger ever!!
