A google search for slightly fancy sushi led us here on a Wednesday evening. Despite not having a reservation, we were immediately seated upstairs, where electronic music and romantically dimmed lighting set the tone for a chic but cozy atmosphere. Sushi aficionados from California, we are well versed in rolls, but the rolls we had at Monster Sushi are among the most imaginative and creative we have encountered to date! The ingredients were fresh as well. We tried the Samba, Maguila, and SexyTuna, and would recommend them all. The Maguila is an innovative blend of flavors I haven’t had before in sushi, topped with crunchy corn-nuts for some interesting texture. SexyTuna (oolala!) is almost a dessert, with its mouth-melting strawberry and caramelized sugar topping. Para beber, we tried the maracuya (passion fruit) mojito - delicious! Our waiter Boris was very friendly and helpful throughout (all of the staff were super friendly; our dinner was very well paced), and to top it all off, we received 2 chupitos (shots) on the house at the end of our meal. Averaging 13-15€ a roll, it’s pricier than other sushi restaurants I’ve encountered in Barcelona so far. But, it’s well worth it if you’re looking for a culinary and dining experience worth...

I have been in very good sushi restaurants around the world and this restaurant is nothing in comparison with a good restaurant. The guy who is supposed to be the administrator (Asian guy with glasses) has the worst attitude ever... he is very rude. When you get in the restaurant the first thing he says is that you can only use the table for one hour and a half. “You have to leave at 9” because we have more reservations and * we had a reservation at 7:30 so if you want to take your time with friends or family to eat and have a good evening don’t come here. There are ways to talk to people and if this guy is the face of the restaurant with the clients he’s lost a lot of clients for sure... The dessert arrived at 8:47 and at 9 we had two persons bringing the account and telling us “sorry to interrupt, but you have to leave” I’m never coming back and I WONT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL!! The rolls are good (very normal) we didn’t like the nigiris, and the...

We visited Monster sushi without and reservation and was lucky enough to get a table for lunch.

The ambiance, deco, and atmosphere all complement each other very well. The dishes we ordered were all great. I was very impressed with and highly recommend the spicy beef stew, just superb! The fishes were of great quality. Their menu is not that big and mainly consists of modern/mash-up Japanese, rather than very traditional ones, so be aware of that. The price fits the quality, albeit on the pricey spectrum, just like most mid-range Japanese restaurants in Barcelona. Our meal (spicy tuna futomaki, salmon california, spicy beef stew, and a pot of hot tea) came to €38.60 (Dec 2017)

The first waiter that seated and waited for us seemed very forgetful and couldn't seem to be able to multitask though - but that is just a little personal note I would like to make. The girl who took over gave much better service.

Overall, the experience...

Fantastic Dining Experience – Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of dining at monster sushi, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Angel the staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The japanese pizza, chicken fried rice perfectly cooked and seasoned, while the straberry with pepper for dessert had a wonderful balance of textures and tastes which was the perfect way to end the meal. The portion sizes were generous, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special night out, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and try more dishes!
