The Fish & Chips Shop — Restaurant in Barcelona

During our trip in Barcalona we found this nice and cozy small place. If you have any thoughts or doubts about that this is just an ordinary run of the mill chip shop you better think again because you might miss a pleasant treat of excellent food.

As soon we sat down a very friendly and down to earth lady presented us the menu and made us feel not only welcome but also very comfortable.

The menu describes the total enviroment and intension of this restaurant very wel. Its small, clear and enjoinable.

A small selection of refined, delicate and high quality food prepared, presented and served with a smile that makes clear you have time to enjoy the moment without any interference or an over your shoulder looking Atmosphere. During our visits there were some locals and other tourists eating and everything was cozy and peacefull.

The staff realy blends in with all kinds of customers and thats realy compliment worthly. The guy who takes orders is also very down to earth and a realy cool dude.

We had an amazing time and enjoined the fish and chips, besides we orderd some small dishes like edame beans, gamba’s and some small vegetable dishes and it was amazing. The food is sincere, genuine and great.

Combine your food with a bottle of white natural organic wine and your good to go!

I visited this restaurant with friends and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is casual yet refined, with attention to detail that makes you feel at home right away. The service was excellent, and I especially appreciate that dogs are welcome and English is spoken.

We started with their fish croquettes, which were absolutely delicious – my personal favorite was the one with red shrimp. The fish and chips were perfectly crispy and not oily at all, the tuna was cooked to perfection (and I usually don’t even like tuna!), and the brioche with fried fish was a treat.

They also have a very good selection of wines to pair with the food. Unfortunately, there were no oysters available this time, but that’s just another reason for us to return soon.

A true hidden gem – definitely a place worth...

★☆☆☆☆ We have terrible experience at El Fish Bar in Barcelona. Arrived at 9:30 PM, restaurant was 3/4 empty with only three tables occupied. When I arrived with No reservation, the front desk staff was incredibly rude, ignoring us initially. they claimed the restaurant was fully booked. (Which is a lie) since I Checked online, found plenty of slots available, so I booked one on the spot. Went back, and the same staff sighed, saying those spots were for "other customers" with prior reservations. I Argued that if it’s full, why are slots open? He blamed the app, which isn’t our problem.

Staff was dishonest, rude, and very anti-tourist and discriminatory.
