I absolutely loved this restaurant during a recent trip to Barcelona. We accidentally found it on our first night because after a long nap we needed dinner around 10 pm. We walked around Gracia checking out which restaurants were open, had a good vibe, were not touristy, and had a good looking menu. This place ticked all of the boxes. The chef/owner came out to greet us and I asked whether they could accommodate vegetarian modifications and it was no issue at all.
We then had such a great meal that after staying in Barcelona for a few days and then Valencia for 3 days on our last night before flying back home out of Barcelona we had to eat there one last time. They remembered us and not in that "oh here comes these two again" sort of way. They genuinely seemed flattered that we wanted to spend our last meal with them.
I've eaten at Michelin star restaurants and this restaurant is definitely deserving. Incredibly fresh ingredients, well thought out and creative menu, great wine selection, and an incredible staff.
We now refer to it as our favorite restaurant in Barcelona - and hope to visit again soon.
Bonus - one of the (I'm assuming co-owners) showed us pictures of the fresh ravello mushrooms they sourced that day for the mushroom dish which was out...
Read moreTried this restaurant for the first time last week.
The food was creative and yummy, albeit the desert, which was not to my liking, but I guess someone may find it awesome.
The service was good, everyone was warm and friendly.
There were a few things that needed improvement, hence the 4 stars, so here is my feedback.
The tasting menu was 49€ and we ordered wine. Our total bill was about 60€ per person. For this price, I typically expect certain things.
I would have appreciated bread at the table. Lots of yummy sauces had to be scooped with a fork. It was not good for me.
Because the tasting menu came without bread, I ordered Pa amb Tomàquet. Ok. How to say this...? I am Catalan, please do not serve Pa amb Tomàquet if it's not done properly. The tomato has to be rubbed on the bread. It's not tomato sauce on top of bread. This is huge for me.
The tables didn't have a tablecloth, and they looked poorly arranged and mismatched. The chairs looked cheap. Again, remember how much we paid.
When the meat dish arrived, we were only offered butter knives. We all struggled to cut our bites.
I feel like this restaurant should have a line at the door. Perhaps the little details need to be ironed...
Read moreTL,DR: the lunch menu was not worth for its price, it took 1h and 20 minutes, and I left still hungry. Actual review would be 3 starts, but I'm voting 1 to compensate the excessively high reviews.
I live in the same street and had wanted to try this restaurant for some time. It looked nice but expensive, so I decided to go for lunch for the menu with a friend as it would be cheaper. They told as the menu was 20,50€, a bit expensive for a lunch menu but we assumed that it would be compensated in quality, so we decided to stay. An unfortunate mistake :(
The quantities were small, as we expected, but not better than any other menu I usually take for lunch, and the most enticing dishes and desserts had an extra cost. The two first plates we ordered were average. The second plate my friend ordered was too, and the one I ordered was nice but I had to pay 3,50€ for it. The only appealing dessert had also an extra cost, which we refused to pay at that point, and the one we ordered was average too. We left hungry and disappointed, and after waiting 1h and 20 minutes in total (the time it took us to eat what they brought 15 minutes at most). And it's not like the restaurant was full either, there were only two...
