I visited Oakberry on June 22nd, around 18:30, and I must express my disappointment with the overall customer service I received. I see that the negative reviews from the past two months reflect the same complaints I have regarding the bad attitude of the staff and the sluggish service.
I encountered two Brazilian employees who seemed to be completely disengaged and frustrated with their roles. One attendant, distinguished by a tattooed arm, stood out for his unfriendly demeanour and the clear message on his face that customers were not welcome. I witness my friend's inquiries about the toppings being blatantly ignored, especially considering it was his first time there.
To aggravate the already poor experience, we were charged an inexplicable €20 for our order. Given that we had ordered two classics priced at €8.50 each and an additional €1 for paçoca, with the remaining items supposedly included. Seeking clarification, the explanation provided by the staff failed to make any logical sense. The wait time exceeded 20 minutes, the priority was Glovo orders, during which several other customers were neglected, resulting in three girls leaving and another couple growing impatient.
The service was unbelievably slow, to the point where it seemed intentional. It felt as though the staff couldn't have worked any slower if they tried.
Eventually we received our order and it was incorrect. Frustrated by the entire experience, I opted not to engage in a futile argument and decided to leave, not wanting to let this situation further spoil my day.
You have a good Açai, but so do other places.
I sincerely hope that the management will address these...
Read moreIt breaks my heart to say that capitalism has once again ruined a perfectly fine establishment… After Oakberrry raised their 67Million Series C, we’ve noticed a change in the recipe of the açai and a ridiculous change in the loyalty program (confirmed by an owner if the franchise as he was upset about it too)
The Açai is pumped full of agave sugar now (it used to have wayyyy less sugar) to probably get more people to like the taste. I can literally scoop a spoon-full of sugar instead of açai now… taste ruined
The loyalty program doesn’t accumulate multiple orders anymore either (order 1 or 10 and you only get 1 stamp now…)
I came here for 3 years as it’s the best açai I can get in Spain that tastes similar to home (Brazil), but that experience has been...
Read moreI have been a client from Oakberry Barceloneta since 2020 and I am still loving it like in the beginning. In my opinion, the taste of the açaí here is the best one I've tried in comparison to all the franchises. The only 'con' is that sometimes in peak hours you may have to cue or wait a bit if there are a lot of people, but it's sooo worth it. Also, the oakbaristas are super nice. David, one of them, is always cheerful and attentive when preparing and delivering the orders, and creates a cool vibe in the shop while people are waiting. In general, I've had a good experience with all the employees there but I don't know their names.
