Panino Silvestre — Restaurant in Barcelona

Panino Silvestre was overall a great lunch experience, tho disturbed by a lot of noise.

As a group of 7 we got a lot of different types of food, ramen, thin crust pizza and panini-like sandwiches. We all really enjoyed the food, and were pleasantly surprised considering the price point.

The food came fairly fast, and the waiter was a great sport, moving lots of chairs around to get us seated. They even forgot what we specifically ordered, but just quickly asked, instead of going on a whim, which was great.

The atmosphere was really cozy, but some disturbances kinda ruined the atmosphere for us. The door was left open by som customer, and it did not get closed, even though it got extremely cold and noisy. When they were making coffee, everything was impossible to hear, because of the brain penetrating noise from the machine. That really caught us off-guard, and stuck with us the rest of the time we were there.

Pongo una estrella, porque te hace poner algo. Lo que hemos vivido hoy no se lo deseo a nadie y la experiencia aún menos. Empiezo por el principio, mi pareja y yo somos celíacos, al ver que en este establecimiento había algunas opciones sin gluten nos ha gustado y hemos entrado. A la hora de pedir el camarero que sinceramente al principio ha sido muy amable nos ha tomado nota, mi pareja le ha recalcado sin gluten, ya que lo hacemos siempre por la enfermedad que padecemos. Y hemos comido la piadina sin gluten que estaba deliciosa, pero al acabar mi novio se ha empezado a encontrar mal y me ha dicho que a ver si es que llevaba gluten el cual yo le he dicho anda ya, acto seguido me he empezado a hinchar y a tener dolor de barriga yo también mi novio ya al ir al baño corriendo he ido a pagar y el camarero me ha preguntado que tal habíamos comido y le he dicho bien, lástima de ser celíacos y siempre tener menos opciones. No va él y me dice que nuestras piadinas llevaban gluten y le digo con razón mi novio ya está en el baño fatal. Allí me he empezado a enfadar, ya que el hombre ha empezado a decir que lo habíamos pedido normal cosa que no tiene sentido, si de postre pedimos el único postre sin gluten de la carta (brownie), le digo que no es verdad que mi pareja lo ha dejado muy claro que sin gluten forma parte de nuestro día a día. Ha venido mi pareja ya enfadadísimo y con razón porque jugar así con una intolerancia es muy, pero que muy injusto y lamentable y le ha pedido la hoja de reclamación. El hombre se la ha dado después de buscar muchísimo y de muy malas maneras y encima con aire chulesco tratándonos de mentirosos. La denuncia ya está puesta y somos humanos, todos podemos cometer errores, pero el no hacer nada ni pedir disculpas nos ha sentado fatal y hemos acabado llamando hasta un médico del mal estar. Una vergüenza y lamentable que hoy en día se siga jugando así con una enfermedad como la nuestra que está a la orden del día, muy tristes y decepcionados, no es nada justo, ya nos ha fastidiado el día. No volveremos jamás y espero que la justicia...

A charming little corner spot… I stopped in for a cafe con leche and croissant in the morning because the windows were open and I wanted some fresh air in this quaint little pedestrian street. The place has some old marble tables and seating (thus, the charm), and I love that old vibe about it. You order at the counter and pick something from the ready-made deli case, which has a lot to offer. They also have an extensive panini menu. I stayed for almost 2 hours working on my laptop and was not rushed to leave.
