I found this restaurant in a local guide. The place is located on an unsuspecting backside road full of garages near the square at the end of Av. Garcia.
The interior is elegant but not too pretensious and service is good. The preparation of food is eye catching and the food is definitely good. Prices are high and not, yet, to match the level of food one would expect for that amount.
The restaurant clearly would like to position itself in the top corner but the chef has still to improve: he prepared an excellent entree with a tower of salad leaves alternated with papaya, avocado, orange, and shrimps. The wanna-be artist touch were wild strawberries, but their strong flavour without contrast (eg radish or rucola) ovepowered the remaining mild flavours.
The second meal was also very good (anglerfish et al), but again the caramelized onions missed a touch of vinegar. The dessert was excellent. A rich and creamy yougurth nicely contrasted with a cold mandarine sorbet.
Menu are in the range 35-70 (don't recall exact price). As I could see from other customers they also serve fresh fish at the oven or in a salt's crust.
The selection of breads is excellent.
1 entree (salad with fruits and shrimps) 1 main course (anglerfish, 2 clams and 2 prawns with caramelised onions) 1 dessert (yougurth with mandarine sorbet) 2 mineral waters + bread 85.60 Euros.
In summary good but still a...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. They are supposed to have lunch menus during week days, they didn’t give us that option. We opted for the tasting menu and the dishes where quite below average. The “appetizers” were basically a couple olives, chips and some saggy pastry. The plates, a gazpacho that could be very well from a super market bottle, a poached egg over saggy potatoes (mushrooms nowhere to be seen), the fish was good and the lamb extremely greasy… the “dessert” yoghurt poured in a plate. The service was extremely slow, we had to ask for the wine menu several times, glasses empty and we had to ask for bread several times. For 80 euro pp there are WAY better options in the city, even Michelin star places. I wouldn’t...
Read moreThis is NOT a place where tourists are welcome! Despite a half full restaurant, we were banished to the back corner of a very drab room. We were expected to order on the spot, and—when we asked for a minute to look at the menu—were met with rolling eyes. Later, when we wanted to order a glass of wine to pair with our main course, we could not get anyone’s attention. We finally flagged someone down but not without more rolling eyes. The food was delicious but a very disappointing way to spend our last...
