Veiga bar Tapes Cerveseria — Restaurant in Barcelona

We found this place close to our airbnb. It's not in a crowded part of town, so it feels a little more intimate/authentic. We seriously contemplated going there for every meal. If the delicious food wasn't enough, the hospitality on its own was plenty. The nicest humans you will meet (it's a family running it together). They explained everything to us in detail, showed us pictures, gave us recommendations, etc. They were very kind and passionate about their food and Barcelona. Additionally, the food was AMAZING. We stuck to tapas and it was glorious! So much delicious and different varieties, all very reasonable priced (we were shocked at how much we saved for how much we ate/drank). Amazing food! Really there are not enough words to describe how good the food is. Rafa is a great chef. The Veiga bar is a family business so you will find here authentic food cooked with passion by Rafa and his family. It is more like a tapas bar for locals not for turists. We visited this Tapas bar 2 nights in a row as the food is fantastic. In weekends they have all sorts of fish specialties. The owner will explain you in detail how the food is made and even of you do not understand Spanish he will show you pictures that for sure will convince anyone. For our group of four this small restaurant was the highlight in Barcelona. We found this location during my stay here at Barcelona. I don't like crowded places where all the tourists are eating so I am always looking for small hidden gems. And this is one. A little unusual: there is no menue. But since the personell is speaking English quite good, that's not an issue at all. Quite contrary since you receive recommendations and explanations. For those who are interested in the prices: just ask. We had a total of nine tapas including bread, peppers, bravas, octopus, squid, Torrezno de Soria and one with salami and egg.
