We had a great stay at Eric Vokel, the staff was very polite and helpful. Here are some of the reasons, I loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to others - They have a washing machine in the unit (for those light travelers, you can do your laundry), we had the 2 bedroom apartment which was plenty of space for the three of us, fully equipped kitchen, a balcony for some fresh air. Yes, you don't get your unit cleaned every day unless you are staying for more than 3 days or so - but that wasn't a huge issue for us. Their front desk is only there until 6 or 7pm - and that's the only thing I wish they would change. For me, It just gives me some sort of relief knowing that there is front desk available in case I need something in a new country,. But they do provide a phone number and email where we can reach them. It's nice of them to provide fruit, tea, coffee etc. at the front desk for anyone who might need it during the times they are open. The location is very convenient for a lot of the sight seeing and has plenty of restaurant around. For those who aren't comfortable with elevators (like myself especially when the elevators are so tiny) the building is easily accessible via stairs and luckily we were only on the 2nd floor. All in all, great stay and I would recommend this hotel to everyone and would absolutely stay here if I ever go back...
Read moreWe stayed at the Eric Vökel Sagrada Familia. It was unfortunately a disaster from the beginning when we arrived the flat. It was not thoroughly cleaned the floors dirty and generally disappointing room to arrive at.
Staying at the apartment for several days where the room was not cleaned once and no vacuum to do it yourself.
No way of getting new towels during the stay and we was forced to wash and dry them ourselves. Went down to ask for more toilet paper but the staff said it’s not included and it’s something we needed to buy on our own.
Generally the service was poor, the apartment old and worn out - the sofa bed was horrible. You were better off sleeping on the floor.
Can’t say if this only applies to this specific location in Barcelona, but it’s very overpriced for the apartment, and the service was poor.
But generally the standard was very low compared to other Erik Vökel apartments
We previously stayed at their apartments in Copenhagen and Hamburg, where the standards of the rooms and service where much higher.
Therefore we were very disappointed by the low standard of the flats...
Read moreThis aparthotel is in a great location, as it’s across the street from a metro station and walking distance to La Sagrada Familia and many other sights. We also visited the bodega and fruit shop daily (a few doors down) for snacks and water (the bodega sells a 5L bottle of water, so that was nice). The size and decor of the room was great and I appreciated being able to do laundry, as we stayed here after being in Europe for 8 days already. They also supplied a drying rack for the clothes and laundry soap. The bed was comfortable and thankfully in the penthouse, the bedroom faced the back, so no street noise at night. The walls are pretty thin however; when our neighbours were in their bedroom same time as us, we could hear everything. We could also hear their kid running around. Luckily they went to bed fairly early, so we did still sleep very well. AC worked well in the room, which we still needed for sleeping even though it’s winter. Note there is a cabinet on the 4th floor that has extra toilet paper and other essentials if you run out. All in all, I would probably...
