L'autèntic — Restaurant in Begur

Beautiful, authentic, sunny spot on a pretty, quiet side street. The staff were so friendly and we really enjoyed our lunch here (we stayed for 2 hours!) We ordered loads (having been deprived of good food where we were staying) and it was all great and definitely all freshly made. I forgot to photograph most of it because we tucked in very quickly! The cuttlefish croquettes were seriously good as was the sauce on the bravas (and I’ve had a LOT of bravas in my time). We also had the tomato bread, the avocado and beetroot tartar, padrón peppers, chicken wings, cod croquettes and an incredible local cheese platter with delicious fig jam. And of course some beer! Good coffee to finish. I’m confused by the bad reviews on here. The menu IS traditional (tapas, bikinis and bocadillos) and it has a great vegan menu too. The inside is spotlessly clean. So I wish I could give this place a 5 star review. The food is super yumm, big portions, great value for money. And they have loads of vegan options. A full menu page dedicated to vegan food. Great location. Nice tables outside overseeing the old city. My only fault is with the service. I'm not sure if it's the language barrier with English as the conversations were such as 'tell me' not very polite and also there were times we waited 15min and nobody came to serve us so we had to go inside and grab menus. Very cozy and delicious authentic street food style restaurant!! With fast service !!

My partner and I ordered 3 main course dishes to share and did not regret any of them. An amazing smash burger and 2 different sandwiches one squid and the other one pastrami, very good choices.

Highly recommend if you enjoy these types of street foods but with a gourmet twist, and very good prices. We payed 45 euros for all 3 dishes with a side of baked potatoes(10/10 btw) , 2 cokes and one bottle of water !! We were suuuper full after this.
