Beny's Bar — Restaurant in Benalmádena

We are courteous Canadians having a terrific time in this amazing town in Spain. Sadly we had an very bad experience today on the waterfront. We stopped in at a lovely seaside bar on the waterfront to have a beverage. We were a party of four. Two of the ladies traveling with us went to use the washroom while myself and my friend asked for a drink menu. We were told that a drink menu was not available. Odd we thought when right outside they advertised happy hour drinks from 3 – 6. Oh well we said we would wait for our friends who are waiting to use the washroom and then we will decide. Our friends came back to our table but were unable to use the washroom as it was locked and perhaps in use. We said there is no happy hour at this bar and no drinks menu so let’s proceed down the waterfront to another bar. Well as we tried to leave the bar tender said what is going on you are not ordering? I told him we wanted a bar menu and to know the happy hour prices. The bartender indicated he is happy all day. And then the waitress moved in to block us from leaving until we paid one euro each for using the washroom. We explained that we could not get into the washroom as it is either locked or in use so we were not paying. She became very obstinate and rude to us telling us to go back to our own country. OMG she even pushed my friend and said she has to pay. This bar is to be avoided at all cost. It is Benny’s Bar. I hate to be negative but come on. We walked a few feet down the boardwalk to Palm 5 and had a terrific experience. Great wait staff, great prices and great drinks with a terrific view. Arrived with children whost on phone to my daughter back home waitress come over ask about drinks. I asked for drinks menu she returned I told her give me a momment i will call you I'm just on the phone. I carried on with my call while discussing drinks with my partner she came back to the table 2 minutes later saying drinks please. I told her one momment we are discussing options aswel has me still being on video call with my daughter. Has she walked away she looked very frustrated and started saying something in spainish along the lines of they will not order and won't move I was surprised by her behaviour and others on a table found she was quite rude. I decided the service I received was appaling so I got up told her no thank you and left. You lost a customer at the expense of a rude impatient staff member she was older 50s blonde hair pony tail. Please give her some advise on patients and customer service. I won't be returning and will tell others of my poor service. I visited with my partner as we had seen them advertise on facebook. We had high expectations but were dissapointed on arrival, the place didnt meet our expectations, we were constantly bugged my flies the entire time we were there, the staff werent very helpful and it was over 10 minutes from sitting down before we were asked what drinks we would like.
