Friendly but very stressed staff. The food was good, but way to expensive for me.
I had been looking forward to celebrate my birthday here with lobster and cava (and friends), but since I could not order less then a whole lobster (about 50€ and up), I settled for one singe little crayfish that I paid 18€ for. I ordered cava at the same time and it showed up about 10 minutes after I received my little crayfish.
It was all delicious, but way to little food for the money and the drinks were delayed.
The staff seemed really stressed. When we asked about the drinks we had ordered they almost seemed annoyed with us. When we asked the check to be split we had three waiters at the same time telling us that we should have told them in advance. (We all had one main and two drinks so it was not at all complicated. Way to much fuzz over it).
My friends had to leave a little while earlier than me so I decided to stay and finish my cava (that was served very late). This stressed the waiters as well and I was told to leave the table.
I did, however, receive a glass of limoncello to enjoy somewhere else, so I took to the beach.
In short; good food for tourist prices $$$. Stressed staff so I wish for the restaurant to hire more or at least take some pressure of their employees. Aside from the stress the staff seemed kind and playful.
I will not go there again. The atmosphere is was...
Read moreAs soon as we arrived (couple), asked for a table and the waiter sent us for a reserved one. A couple arrived later saying they had a reservation, we didn't see them since.
While asking for the table, the waiter insisted on knowing what country I'm from since I was speaking English.
We ordered a Paella and 2 Coca-Cola's. The paella was clearly heated in an industrial oven, specially when it took only 10 min to be served. Everything tasted the same, no individual flavours, 2nd worst paella we've had, and we've had many.
After lunching, we asked for the bill. The time it took to get us the bill, was the same to serve us the paella, around 10 min. During those 10 min we witnessed the boss going bonkers and getting dragged inside by a waiter, followed some weird sounds from the back, I assume he was punching a door/wall.
The bill arrived, they charged 2.40 for the "service", for the first time in my life, to note that we like to travel to Spain quite a lot. He asked "Don't you do this in Portugal?" In a condescending tone.

Read moreWe knew we'll land late in Malaga and we'll have our dinner even later, so I made sure to check some places still open after 11:00 PM. I chose La Sirena because it's proximity to our stay in Benalmadena and it proved a wonderful pick from that first evening. In two week stay in Andalucia we had the chance to try many restaurants and taverns, but La Sirena despite it's non pretentious atmosphere (or because of that), remained our favorite place. The place is run by an ethnic staff and they were extremely friendly and fun, they remembered us from our first visit and they were very nice with us every time after that. The place looks like a crowded tavern, it's certainly not a five star restaurant, the toilets might not be the most luxurious were you went before, but the only thing that really matters, the food was perfect for us. We wanted real seaside andalucian cuisine and we had that threefold. We loved everything we ordered and we recommend this place with...
