Normally if the food is not so good I would just pay and just not visit the restaurant again but last nights experience was bad. We are in benidorm for the first time in over 20 years and I have to say its been a very good week until last night! As most people do these days I looked online at the reviews and was really looking forward to a good meal. I think there were 2 other diners in the restaurant when our group of 4 arrived at 9pm so it wasn't busy which I prefer as the kitchen is you would assume not under too much pressure so they can make your meal perfect. The poppadoms arrived and about 2 minutes later the starters. 3 portions of onion bargees and 1 lamb tikka. The lamb tikka had a watery red sauce poured on top of it and the onion bargees were just like a mass of flour with no onions in them and cold as if they hadn't microwaved them long enough. They could not have been made fresh as the time between ordering and serving was too short. They were totally inedible so I very nicely approached the Scottish Asian guy who seemed to be in charge and said I am really sorry but we are not happy with the food so please can I pay for the drinks and leave. He said what about the main courses you have ordered and are being prepared to which I replied well we haven't eaten any of our starters as they are so bad so we don't want anything else. He started to argue with me but I said please just tell me what I owe you for the drinks and we will leave. After a couple of more minutes arguing I withdrew my offer to pay and started to leave but he followed me out and continued to argue at which point my friend gave him 20€ as he could see I was getting annoyed. I told the owner to call the police if he deemed it necessary. I think he thought I was jut an average British tourist who would just pay for whatever they decided to serve us good or bad but he looked shocked when I told him I am actually a spanish resident and live I mallorca. I know what to expect in Indian restaurants in spain,I know its not the same as in the UK. Terrible experience overall and ruined our evening as my wife...
Read moreThought we would try it out after seeing a YouTube video of the macmaster and Geoff carter praising the food and saying how delicious it was, well all I can say is If this was a curry house in Wolverhampton it wouldn't last a couple of weeks because the Currys were bland with no flavour or any type of spice!as soon as it arrived at the table and I took one look at it I knew it was going to be terrible just by the very light colour to it ,spicy Currys done properly are always dark in colour rich with a bold flavour none of which this had I had a south Indian garlic chilli (I've had hotter baltis )there was hardly any garlic in it and not even 1 slice of a chilli in sight just a bowl full of onion to pad it out tasted Asif I was just giving a bowl of base gravy packed full of onions with some chicken thrown in absolutely terrible!comes to something when both my 2 young daughters are saying the curry tastes funny after ordering the same as what they order every time we visit a Indian restaurant and upon trying it I seen where they were coming from
We tried it but still yet to find a decent curry house in benidorm another waste of money and a meal out, perhaps we will try India gate next like we had planned to do that day but thought we would give it a go after seeing the YouTube video , they obviously didn't pay a penny for there meals hence the reason why they sang cafe India so much praise as you don't mind so much when it comes for free.but seriously I could of cooked a better curry with a jar of pataks sauce and it would of won hands down over any of the Currys we...
Read moreCan’t recommend this place enough. Came on holiday for a week and ate here twice. The food is so fresh and yummy. The best Indian I’ve ever had. The menu of the day is less than 16€ each and you get so much food. And the food couldn’t be better. Poppadoms and pickle tray as soon as you sit. A choice of 5 starters I believe it is. I had the veg samosas both times as they were hot, fresh and homemade!! The choice of main is insane. Not limited to only a few options. Nearly a full menu to pick from so there is something for everyone. I had chicken korma ( I know, basic but… :) ) the chicken was so soft and juicy, it fell apart when sticking my fork into it. Plenty of chicken and sauce, wasn’t tight on portions. You also get a choice of side with your main. The pilau rice and nan bread are lovely. The nan bread is thin and crispy, not doughy at all. My favourite part is that your main comes in a little metal stand with a tea light underneath to keep it warm and heated. Never seen that before and I think it’s a lovely little detail! Staff are lovely and hardworking. They were kept busy all night but took the time to check on you and have a little chat and a laugh. Couldn’t have felt more comfortable and looked after. Really really...
