Tiki Beach — Restaurant in Benidorm

I was at tiki beach on Thursday 14th of November 2024 which was my first night there at Benidorm for the fiesta party. I have kept myself back from doing this review but I would never go back 👎 went with a group of like 9 people , it was my first day and I had taken my money with me. 430 euros I had in a ramsdens folder when I put money into the kitty. After this I couldn’t find money anywhere but tiki beach was the last place I had it . I had a lot to drink but remember exactly how much I lost . Returned to tiki beach for them for just hand me 5 , 20 euro notes which accumulated to 100 euros. They said this is what was handed in and I said , well I lost 430 . All that was handed in was 100 the girl waiter and security said. So the next day on the Friday I went back to them in a more ready position to address the matter to say I’m thinking about reporting this to the police as I believe with them just handing me 100 euros there’s something not right. Is that what bars do now a days just randomly give 100 euros ??? I think all along they gave me back a portion of my 430 that I lost so I would keep quite or to feel bad for me that they actually robbed the majority of it . So when I went back in to tiki beach on the Friday and said actually I’m going to have to go to the police as I believe some of this money could have been stolen so they can come and check the CCTV , the women waitress and the guy security were talking to each other in Spanish when I mentioned police and CCTV and the women said , this bar very busy it’s difficult to see someone dropping money , that money 100 euros we handed you could have been someone else’s money . So why would yous hand me 100 euro of someone else’s if you weren’t certain 100% it was mine ! .. I think someone else handed in my folder with 430 in it otherwise those waiters or security went straight to the table to clean as we left and clocked the folder with the lot !!! no one in Benidorm is genuine as I’ve herd in the past few days and tiki beach bar sertainly fall into one of them !! Then the waiter women said if you go to police they would just laugh the situation off . It’s great how she said the police would just laugh at me for losing a lump some of money which they could have stolen! As a customer I should have been looked after in a way . atleast i got 100 euro back . I think it’s been guilt money they gave me when reporting lost money , or money for like oh no this guy has spoken about cctv and police we better give him something. More like yous stole my euros . STAY WELL CLEAR OF HERE !!!! Wish I had reported this but when going to the international police there was a big massive que and I didn’t want to ruin the last 2 and a half days I only had left out of 4 days ! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID at all costs!!!

Whilst sitting in a bar next door I was whiteness to an horrific attack on a woman in her 40’s from the bar I was in stepping outside and talking on her phone so not even drinking in Tiki bar.

She was out of nowhere pushed and shoved them instantly pepper sprayed in her face, she was crying and her eyes were streaming with orange liquid from the spray and then violently man handled further, completely unnecessary.

I gentlemen, I assume her husband then went to her aid and was even more aggressively attacked, another gent who appeared to be trying to calm everyone down was then also sprayed in the face, medical attention would have definitely been required but none offered, I do hope they’re ok. Totally inexcusable!!

More passers by tried to assist and were also attacked.

How the gent who was keeping things calm and sprayed didn’t retaliate is beyond me, I suspect as he couldn’t see!!

As they all tried to comfort The woman and help her walk away more staff came and attacked the (I assume) husband from behind, ripping his shirt off and going violently and unnecessarily overboard. Disgusting behaviour!!

Following this we ensured we never visited this establishment and certainly wouldn’t recommend and on reading other reviews this is clearly a regular occurrence. Not everyone is a loutish Brit!! The security stood outside in a very intimidating manner at this venue and made it extremely uncomfortable.

I genuinely worry for young men and women going in there, actually any age!! . Drink is encouraged in large measures and pushed to be consumed quickly, often I imagine resulting in a drunken outcome then I presume from other reviews they are exited in such an appalling manner. Not a great start to anyone’s break away.

Management of this venue clearly don’t care and turn a blind eye. Best thing people can do is avoid it and let them suffer financially, perhaps then they might realise this needs to stop.

Safety and security would understandably always be key when alcohol and sun are combined but this was barbaric behaviour by...

Violent staff!!!!! We were at this bar on Friday afternoon, and a young lady was being escorted out by a built male bouncer. She was visible upset about being kicked out but had clearly drank a few too many. She touched the bouncers shoulder to which he then forcefully and aggressively shoved her, she fell flat on her back and hit her head on the brick road and did not move. Her friends ran to her side to check if she was okay. The bouncer, had no care/concern/remorse, instead he picked up her jacket and chucked it across the street. Disgusting behaviour. The bouncer then noticed a young male bystander (who was not at the bar but was a passer by) who had started to record the event on his phone. The bouncer walked over, and I assume asked the young man for his phone or to delete the video, which I assume the young man refused. The bouncer then grabbed the young man by his throat and threw him to the ground. At this point some other bystanders rushed over the protect the young man, the bouncer then proceeded to punch and fight the other bystanders who were trying to de-escalate the situation. We then saw a number of other male staff members/bouncers running over, I presumed to remove the bouncer who was fighting innocent bystanders. But instead the staff joined in the fight, one staff member picked up a chair and hit a bystander with it. The fight was completely out of hand, caused by violent staff employed by this bar. I cannot comment on whether the bystanders were okay as myself and friends rushed to escape the chaos. We were all incredibly shaken up and shocked by what had happened. I have never seen or experienced anything like this in my life and I hope never to again. Such a shame as the bar and vibe was great fun up...
