The Jungle - Beach Bar — Restaurant in Benidorm

Love the Jungle! Myself and 13 friends ate her for a hen do on Saturday 18th May. We initially reached out to make a booking via Facebook and the communication was brilliant. As we were a hen party and in fancy dress (the bride was Tinkerbell + hens were lost boys) we wanted to make sure that this would be okay, they encouraged us and gave us the options for bottomless drinks and dining from a set menu. This made everything so easy when it came to organising and i cannot thank them enough for providing this option. The food was lovely. Unfortunately we did have one hiccup which was they forgot the bride's pizza and when we did receive it, it was sadly burnt. We did request another one and they more than made up for it with their service. To apologize, the bride was given a free meal and a free cocktail - which was more than enough! However, they then allowed us all to have a free shot aswell to start our night off with a bang. We were very grateful and it just showed us what great service the Jungle provides. Great Location, right on the front, elevated terrace with relaxing bamboo seats, better than the usual plastic ones. Fairly quiet, mid-afternoon when we visited. Waiters, just hanging about doing nothing. So went inside to bar, only me in, 4 staff faffing about, and ages to be served, not even, won't be a minute from them. By time they served me queue behind me. Ordered 2 pints of Lager, advertised on board 1 Euro a pint, pulled the pints, then charged me 6.40 Euro, queried it, just pretended not to understand, just accepted, and sat down. Must admit, great pint, and a cold glass, the best pint we had in Benidorm. Sat down, enjoying the view, and atmosphere. However, the tables were filthy, and lots of dirty plates, and glasses on table, with litter all over the floor. It wasn't as though they were busy, with staff doing nothing.. Not at all like most bars in Spain with efficient waiters. On top of that, toilets had alot to be desired.

Staff don’t understand their customers.

They have a clearly advertised happy hour, but the waitress didn’t understand what happy hour meant, and tried to over charge us.

We came to eat, but when we finished our happy hour snack they collected the menus and left our table alone, not coming anywhere near us again. So we went to eat and drink elsewhere.

It’s Friday night and the place is empty, whilst everywhere around is full. I suggest you look at which staff were working on 22/9 and give them some training. All of the customers that were here sat looking confused at the lack of service, and all left by 8pm as it was clear they came to eat but the waiters didn’t want to ask for orders. The waiters spend all their time inside pretending to be busy wiping the cutlery…
