well if you want me to review bamboo I can only tell you what I thought of my experience. The reason for my visit was because the restaurant is only 5 mins walk from where I live which is ideal. Last year we thought the food was relatively good and excellent value but unfortunately our recent visit 8th May 2021 was not so good. Visit Sunday 8th May 2021. The restaurant is clean apart from the toilets which are not well looked after. Now I will give you my personal opinion ! If you want to visit this restaurant for as much as you can drink (alcohol included) for 13.50 euro then this is the place for you. But if you like good tasty and well prepared food then stay away. The food is tasteless and badly prepared to give you an example the ribs are like leather ! the pancakes with duck the pancakes are like tissue paper that you cant open and the duck well that was tasteless. The whole experience well I would say is for the drinkers! and dont expect too much from the food experience. Our table was not cleared for over 1 hour and even the table next to us was not cleared when I mentioned this to the male waiter his reply was " it is sunday and we are busy" but with being half full there was no excuse. ok in reflection for two of us the bill came to 30 euro which is good ! but did we feel satisfied with the quality of food and the taste the answer is NO. if you want to drink for cheap this is the place for you. But if you want quality of food then definitely stay away go somewhere else that prides themselves...
Read moreAt first the menu is a little overwhelming, but once you get to grips with it, there are alot of options to choose from.
Let's start with what was good:
Lemon chicken was fantastic, the prawn dishes were great and the duck is fantastic.
Rice and chips are really good and the sushi is worth a try, especially the salmon and the prawn.
Salads ( prawn, cucumber) were absolutely amazing.
Skewers (Japanese, prawn and salmon) were really good.
Sizzler dishes (we had the duck) are an extra 2 euro but definitely one of the best.
Dumplings are amazing, had several portions of these.
Salt and pepper ribs were absolutely fantastic and had to be my favourite.
Chicken nuggests are good (its a chicken nugget, what are you going to expect).
Spicey soup was really good.
Rolls (duck, mini spring) were really tastey.
Now the dishes that were not so great:
Sausage skewers are just hotdogs.
Chicken in Black bean sauce tasted very fishy.
Chicken and sweetcorn soup tasted not so great as was very thick.
Prawn rolls weren't all that great as were a bit sloppy.
Staff & Establishment:
The staff are really polite and helpful and had no issues whatsoever.
The atmosphere was nice, with tables spaced decently apart.
Drinks:
Beer was cold, coke was actually coca cola and the water was brought in large bottles.
All in all, definitely worth a visit while you are here and would come again to try other parts...
Read moreWe had a lovely family meal here. (Seven of us). The beginning of November was still in the school holidays, but the negative reviews posted were not our experience of this restaurant. Firstly, we couldn't believe the price included beer, wine or soft drinks. The wine was a very nice red. We found marking the food required from a list rather novel. Unlike other buffet style restaurants, as least they only cook what is required. We were with my Aunt and Uncle who had been several times before. We initially just ordered the starters, then once finished, we ordered the main. Prawn crackers were supplied, but you had to ask for them. We live in France and Chinese food is difficult to come by. We generally get a mix of Cambodian/Vietnamese. I personally hadn't had Chinese food for a couple of years and enjoyed it very much. €94.50 for us all was great value. The staff actually came up and asked us about 2200hrs if we would like anything else to eat as they wanted to close the kitchen at 2300hrs. The restaurant was clean and bright. The staff very welcoming and helpful. The toilet facilities were clean. We would definitely go again...
