The Lounge — Restaurant in Benidorm

Unfortunate we use to love it here, we (me and my partner and his Spanish family) always go there regularly when we visit witch is about twice a year for around 2 weeks

Yesterday we went after lunch around 17 and ordered coffees first then loads of drinks and even some food. They had changed the rules to order at the bar but the different staff members now only speak English and only request English. Not sure if they have changed owners as the staff last year did speak a little Spanish and were always welcoming.

Me being the English in the group of Spanish, I was doing most of the ordering and my partner also. We spent quite a lot as always and were a big group. I happily visited again with my partner for breakfast before leaving again it was great the food, no issues ordering at the bar or anything and friendly. But the rest of the group have stayed extra days and would of be making multiple visits there but unfortunately they were not welcomed today when trying to order coffee around 17 again, yes they are Spanish and they don't have great English tried to order coffee with milk with broken English, reporting back that they were refused the drinks under the impression they were not welcome other as they are not native English speaking. Pretty disgusting to be honest if that's truly what happened. Maybe it was all lost in translation and I don't understand what's been said to me about there experience, but that's how they understood it. Benidorm is in SPAIN and should welcome the Spanish and it's disgusting today you made loyal customers feel unwelcome in their own country. Stopped off for lunch on a days cycling and were really surprised at how great the food was. Service was excellent and priced very reasonable. Real value for money.
