BTQ - Bilbao Te Quiero — Restaurant in Bilbao

My wife/I has an excellent dinner here. We wanted a change after several very nice pintxos meals, and BTQ looked a good option. It did not disappoint. The restaurant has a busy bar area at the front, ideal for a drink and pintxo and a calmer dining area at the back. We were in this area which was a haven of peace. We shared a cod salad as a first plate. It was very fresh and tasty, and plenty big enough to share. Then we had a second plate each - cod and calamari. These were lighter, mostly just excellent and well cooked fish with a sauce and small portion of vegetables. Together with the bread and tomato, this made a filling meal. We couldn’t manage deserts. Absolutely loved my meal at BTQ! I had the tuna tartar and the grilled squid—both were excellent. The tuna was super fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully plated. Un mes después de la anterior visita he vuelto a Bilbao. Y con tan grato recuerdo no podía dejar de volver también al BTQ. Sandra/Miren, Miren/Sandra; tanto monta, monta tanto. No son hermanas pero son eficientes y agradables por igual. Sin ellas no sé yo si la estancia en el BTQ sería lo mismo...😎 Ésta vez fuimos dos y compartimos media de jamón de bellota (brutal) y media de tomate de caserío con taco de bonito (sabrosísimo), para cerrar con el imprescindible entrecot fileteado con patatas, pimientos rojos y del Padrón. De nuevo nota excelente por la calidad y por el servicio. Con cerveza, agua, dos copas de un buen Rioja y cafés no llegamos a 40€ por persona. Me temo que tardaré en volver pero cualquiera de vosotr@s que tenga la oportunidad de estar por la zona, que no se lo pierda. No os arrepentiréis!!

Comimos en BTQ el sábado 20 de abril (3 personas). Nos atendió maravillosamente bien Miren, que nos aconsejó con los platos y las raciones para que no sobrase ni faltase nada. Que la nota general sea de 4 estrellas nada tiene que ver con la calidad de la comida (excelente todo, especialmente la carrillera de ternera y el entrecot fileteado, sin desmerecer para nada el pulpo a la brasa y la ensalada de ventresca y verduras a la brasa) ni con el servicio (tremenda Miren!), sino porque el azar quiso que coincidiésemos con un grupo de más de 20 personas, lo que hizo algo más difícil la comunicación entre nosostros. Nos llevamos a Barcelona un gratísimo recuerdo, un restaurante para recomendar sin pestañear....
