Disappointed. We (2 people) tried to eat and have drinks here, and when we asked for one of several open tables, we were immediately asked if we would eat. We said drinks y a little food and before we could explain more (bc were not sure how much food we wanted to order tapas style and share as we went, depending on quality of food)…immediately we were Told “this is a restaurant” and no further conversation or potential service was welcomed. We speak English and Spanish, so not translation problem. We felt unwelcomed even though we met their food ordering (spending) criteria and always tip very well. So we went across the patio to another restaurant (el extremeno) for our food dishes and vino (y bottela de vino para llevar también). Meanwhile, the empty tables are still there and growing in numbers, when we could have well-paid for Food and drinks. (we spent over 100 euros across the patio and tipped 20 euros…for two people To occupy a table for 45 min) Suggestion: ask questions before assuming about potential guests’ spending habits. We always appreciate good service; we even tipped the free musician on the street next to us 50 euros .(photo is us across patio at el extremeno, where we were welcomed in spite of less available tables)…and la equenita’s empty tables in background. We love supporting by small businesses especially when referred by a local friend, and also love good service and more new...
Read moreStopped off here for a drink but ended up having a wonderful meal as we got such a super welcome from Rosalia.
The setting is lovely it was a chilly evening so we ended up moving tables a few times to get warm but were kindly accommodated until we were comfortable nothing was too much trouble.
We opted for the prawn salad and the Optus as starters both were delicious a bit more prawn maybe in the salad would have been nice, we had the 1kg steak to share it was pretty big but so delicious that we polished it all off it came with a hot plate so if you prefer it more cooked you can pop it on that.
We had a gorgeous bottle of local red wine and because everything else was so nice we managed to squeeze in a strawberry cheese cake
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit during your stay highly recommend it and Rosalia is a hard working young lady and maintained a very friendly and professional manner even when she was very busy, she checked on us several times during our meal and ensured everything was ok for us. The meal we thought was also great value. thank you for a wonderful dining experience kindest regards Aine &...
Read moreOne of my favourite eateries in the beautiful city of Cordoba. This time I was there with 2 colleagues we enjoyed a leisurely lunch and some extremely nice wine. We ordered 4 dishes to share including the fried aubergine with cane honey, grilled chicken breasts with pardon pepper and potatoes, solomillo pieces with salsa verde. I particularly like clams but on their menu they only have them marinera style, I'm unable to eat tomato or tomato based sauces so asked our waiter Rafael if it was possible to have them cooked with white wine and garlic the kitchen was very accommodating and served them that way for me. It was greatly appreciated and they were delicious. The terrace is a lovely spot to eat, all the staff are super friendly and helpful I have no problems with recommending this quaint little restaurant for quality of both food and...
